Couple of Flawless yoyo has finally arrived to replace my Jetset EG. Also got a Markmont Cirrus Foam (supposedly good for 4A).
Been planning on learning (or at least try) to do Soloham during the holidays.
Iād really like to know how those strings work out for 4a. There gonna look dope with those guysš
The Cirrus Foam makes a nice audible sound when you whip it around, similar to Kitty Nylon 1.5, and Kitty Fat. Visually, the width looks somewhere between Kitty Normal and Kitty Fat. Nylon 1.5 is definitely wider. I could feel the ridges on the string when I rub my hand against it if I pay attention - it feels slightly more pronounced than Kitty strings - suggesting more threads and/or quality threads are used⦠However it is not rough on the hands. It is definitely stiffer than Kitty, but not by a wide margin - could be why it makes an audible sound when you whip it, even though it is not a fat string.
On 4A, that whipping sound may make people feel a little more confident/certain when they try to whip-bind it while the yoyo is free falling down from the air. It seems to whip more straight than strings that donāt make that audible sound (or are limp), like the string that came with the Flawless (whatever that string is).
I think what the advantage the Cirrus Foam will give is longevity. Probably also 4a yoyos with a narrow gap. The Flawless has an adjustable gap, so I donāt have this problem, and can experiment with strings of different width.
Rei Iwakura posted in his instagram that he actually uses Kitty Fat for single 4a play, and Kitty Normal for Soloham. He likes thinner strings for Soloham so you minimize rubbing on the pads, and therefore prolong spin time. This is where the Cirrus Foam can come in imo.
Donāt forget the TiWangle!
Finallly got my black friday yoyos in! Picked up a 7068 Bowl and a YYF Skyline with some Markmont strings.
i didnāt know you could buy apples online
