I was mainly upset because it’s a Quoc Anh (5a) signature yoyo which was the whole reason I bought it. A 5a yoyo should hold up to a couple of drops. Especially one costing $100-ish.
Oh and I tried to contact Sense about it but they don’t respond.

Not really in the mail… but I got this in person on Monday. Was at the beach in Ocean City, NJ and heard that a little catch-all store called Air Circus sold yoyos. Walked in and to my surprise they had a fun selection of YYF, Duncan and Zeekio. On the floor, in a case in the back, they had three legendary 888s. While their prices are reasonable, this guy was an absolute ridiculously low price. They have two silver left if anyone wants to go out, get a great deal and support a local shop!
I have really wanted to try an 888 but just never have. Let alone a legendary 888
A gorgeous clear Returner from Turner Return Tops. Plays wonderfully. A few minutes to warm up the new pads and the response gets just where I like it with no messing at all. Love it.
G2 mystery lottery RBG. This one gave my bank account a hemorrhage. Painful lesson in financial responsibility, but I’m very grateful to have it. It’s as great as I hoped it would be
I was literally just in NJ, darn lol. TBF I was in Newark so it’s not like I was right there, that’s the opposite direction
Honestly, I don’t understand why this version, which is more limited and also has a special surface treatment, is sold for $80 less than the original Burger…
(I read the official reasoning but honestly it seems silly to me that those four plastic circles justify such a figure.)
I think a lot of people would be shocked at how much certain things cost to machine or how much some anos or coatings change costs. I know I am regularly surprised, even after nearly 5 years of engineering these spinning things ![]()

Right after my Pocket Dog came, he went and made this one… He turned a bunch of beautiful laminates recently.
Beautiful @SpaceCat
So the Toasted Burger, which has an additional electroplating surface treatment, costs $80 less than the regular Burger, which doesn’t. Interesting explanation.
Regarding the four plastic rings that aren’t included, until a few days ago they were available in store and had to be purchased separately. I don’t remember the price, but it certainly wasn’t that high.
You really would be surprised what stuff can cost. As another person making yo-yos this 100% checks out. The coating probably added a few bucks to the cost. The pc toppings would have cost a lot more to machine.
I’m making some counterweights they cost half the price of the yoyo.
Also they were released at different times and material prices fluctuate on top of all of that complexity.
The topping rings were actually 3D printed by Layer Infinity. There is a write-up of what it took to realize the design (sounds like a lot!) on the original Burger page.
So I had quite a wonderful experience trying out some Peasoup Strings! I was really surprised how soft the Downy and Wooly Strings feel, and after trying out the sample packs he sent me I really knew I liked those two the most! Picked some up to give out at Club and have fun colour matching some of my throws, and to my surprise he threw in two custom blue and white strings, one being the multi colored blue and white as well as a blue and white faded one all because I mentioned hoping they would have a blue version of one of them so I could use it on my Centrifugal 2 Prototype, and to top it off he even made me two custom variations of a purple and pink after we had talked about our favourite colour ways on YoYo’s, mine being Hibiscus ![]()
Truly blown away by the kindness shown! It’s wonderful to find a Canadian String Maker in the game!
@RealGambit (edit to tag them!)
They play so well don’t they… I need to get more of them…
That fade string looks so cool! Jealous!!
I’ve never had a fading one before! It’s such a pleasant surprise!
Aye, I didn’t look at this specific release that closely. My statement was more general. Sorry I don’t have any better insight than that ![]()
Man the cuts on the rims of that Centrifugal 2 (proto) are straight up fire.
Free Solo and Overture added to the OD collection. Thanks @dipto !
