Not as fun as a yoyo, but my strings from @BigRedStrings just came in! I got to admit, I’m having a bit of a love affair with the Cloud 9 that came with the Positional, can’t wait to bust into the sampler pack

Curious to know how’s the skillfingr playfeel?
Honestly so far it’s the perfect 5a Bimetal. It’s got loads of power and stability. Not super agile but lovely snappy binds.
Have yet to discover how well it does with hard drops on stone. But I’m sure I’ll find out in the coming weeks.
Can’t be worse than the Sense Next Stage 6061 I had. Which despite being a 5a player Signature had just HORRIBLE vibe after a single drop.
It looks like YoyoEmpire took some measures for durability in the axle as well which should help.
I can’t find the Alloy on this one. But I’m hoping for 7075 or at the very least 7068. That would be the cherry on top. If it deals well with drops this might replace my iYoyo Explosion for fav 5a Bimetal.

Looks like you’re going to love YYR’s next 5A model since it has almost the same design as yoyoempires skilfingr. Speaking of the design, Kengo Kido also designed the Skilfingr for Naoki Uemae so it’s no surprise they did a great job making it one of the best 5A yo-yo

It should be from 2008 and the signs of its age are more evident than the graphics!

I am not trying to discourage you or call you out or anything, tho you should know:
They are fantastic yo-yos, I love the 888 and my newer reissue is wonderful. Never played a “genuine” early 888, but my 2 ‘12 888x are great as well as the reissue.
Also your box is dated 2017 and states Made in China, I believe the earlier ones were made in USA
Again I’m not trying to “um actually” you here just want to make sure you weren’t lied to when buying this (if it is a reissue). There are more dedicated 888 fans tho, perhaps there are things that can get better identify it as an ‘08!

I’m extremely confident that’s a reissue. It’s a slightly lighter blue, with a much shinier finish than the original 2008 run. The box is a definite giveaway too.
