Edit: cleaned it up and lubed it with a bit of Super Lube O-Ring Lubricant and an OT Fat, it plays like a champ! Was able to hit 3 loops first try lol
FINALLY back to Chicago
(actually here permanently now ) and able to scoop up all these gems. The Galatic Goose and the 1 of 8 protoype sliver were pretty cool i thought
I can’t imagine what your collection looks like, must be nuts
Just imagine every dope yoyo in existence
@Howdypartner haha it looks like alot of bad financial decisions but im a happy camper so its all good
Oh wow that Sliver is super cool. I love the Sliver.
That’s my usual mail day
Here are three orders ive gotten this week. This g2 afterlife feels AMAZING, too! New to yoyos and I’ve gone a bit overboard
This isn’t even all of the ones I bought, either, or have on the way. Just the past few days
How does it play?
Kind of went a little crazy at ECM, planned on only picking up a DEW and a Dirty Dunk, but then I saw the Freshly Dirty B-grades… (spoiler alert, they all play like A-grades). Please don’t tell my wife
Those are not yet available in States makes them more special owning. Wi1d has a bunch of new yo-yos in the works lately seems like they are on fire in the lab.
Worth it though. The fact that all the fluke b grades where essentially a tray fell over and Arthur just made them all b grades makes them a grades at b grade prices to me.
Great trade with @tubby-omnivore
@SR1 we twinsies!!
Davidson Lathe Craft custom orders.
First is from Southeast Asian Afzelia Burl, and the second New England Hard Maple.
The shape has some Ardeus inspiration, but with some personal adjustments in width, diameter, and shape.
I cannot say enough how much I love his work, attention to detail, and willingness to work with me to create something custom tailored to my taste, but with his craftsmanship and work ethic getting all the credit.
Should you ever want him to duplicate what I find to be a 0A performance machine, request the below specs.
Width - Between 1.25 and 1.3 inches
Diameter - 2.35 inches
Show images of these to get shape similar.
If you decide upon an exotic wood (which is heavier), go with concaved sides like the Burl here, to keep the weight in line with what you are likely used to. If Maple or another common, lighter wood, do not ask for concaved sides, the weight should come out at the sweet spot.
Gap size - a worn two dime gap (might need a hair of chapstick, the Maple didn’t, the Burl did)
I am glad you had a good experience with him.
