Rainier is also good yo-yo and I’m not surprised that people find the shape more comfortable. But comfort isn’t everything and I think ThruLine is comfortable enough, more interesting and the shape is more functional (for me) on a large yo-yo.
SEs are cool, but OD’s tapped axle yo-yos hold their own.
I don’t find Rainier and ThruLine all that similar comparable even ignoring the shapes, but I do gravitate towards more unique/challenging shapes in general.
The stock on the Fairy Crystal Lab Ghost IX was getting too low for me, been wanting one of these and this is my favorite color it comes in. I’ve had it a couple days now so I can actually post a bit of thoughts about it.
It plays so powerful, feels almost like a bimetal. It’s heavy but I always love that anyway, the weight of POWER! I feel like I can spam boingy boings without even thinking because it’s impossible to miss the string with how wide it is and it spins forever. I deshielded and cleaned the stock bearing and it’s very quiet. This is probably my favorite plastic I’ve played now. It hangs out with my updn Orange in the “doesnt fit in my regular yoyo shelves” club lol
Two separate packages showed up today, a giant pile of strings and Duncan hat from ■■■■■■■ and and an eBay auction I’m stoked to have won at a ridiculously low price; an old Duncan butterfly + this Fli-back (which I know nothing about).
