A couple months ago, browsing around the Shop App, and I saw a store for Beyond Yo-yos. That was the first place I’d saw this, Duncan’s World Class. I really liked the look of it, made a mental note to check the forums for one, no luck.
Found em new here! Annd it’s an A bearing. Significantly larger diameter than I’d of thought. Gonna toss in a weekender bearing and see how it goes.
Edit: Checked the store, there’s just 1 more special Osaka editions.
My deepest state arrived today after a stay in customs.. gorgeous throw. I got the greasebucket as well but going to play with the stock bearing for a while first.
Revora aluminum! Instant love, immediately one of my fave yo-yos.
It’s wide and is vaguely in the realm of the Wilderness but it feels completely different. Not aggro, but super chill and floaty. It’ll go fast and high performance if pushed but it seems to want to play slow and relaxed, at least to me. But super capable. I expected like a wider mono Fulvia, but what this feels to me most is like…. Uh… like a cross between a Wilderness and the goddamn Plastic Peak. It had that delicious sweetness of the Pleak crossed with big wide performance skills. Wild.
First yoyo I’ve bought in awhile. Not every CLYW hits for me, but the Leaf surely does. I was sad I missed this colorway on the first drop, got lucky and caught the email for more!
turning unresponsive yoyos responsive makes for some really, REALLY fun play imho. long 1A tricks with flyaways are rad. also whatever lube is used in the greasebuckets is NOT grease, those bearings have way too much spin to be grease lol
This showed up last night. I decided to take some pictures this mornings I was shooting for “rustic an artistic” …
I’m a welder not a photographer…
Anywho, I don’t have a lot of Ti’s on account of the price point. However there are some I just can’t help but look for, here’s Luftverks Daytona. About as mint as mint gets. I can’t find any handling marks or smudges. I’d swear it wasn’t thrown if the bearing shield wasn’t missing. Popped a greasebucket in there and whaaaaat? It was like throwing a handful of.. wind. It was as if my arm and the string entwined to form a six foot lizard tongue and the Daytona was the fork at the end. I did a few loops and backward passes? Reality around me began to rewind..
I was expecting something more along the lines of a Ti Respawn. Not what I got! Now, I’m in no way baggin on Respawns I love mine, but this is a lot different. The walls are thick, sturdy, and it’s surprisingly heavier than I’d of initially thought.
I really like luftverks approach to yo-yos in general. No fancy ano’s, no crazy box goodies (although I am a HUGE sucker for swag), when they do choose colors they pick very soft tones. You just know they put all their energy into what’s arguably the most important, the throw itself.
Thanks @POspot for helping me find one of my grails. Now I just gotta find a Small Bearing run
