Yea, it switched over about 3-4 years ago. Itâs slightly different now from my understanding. I started 3 years ago.
I always thought the Vow was pretty much this. Is this new? Canât remember seeing one before.
Snagged it on the BST
Old kitty used to be produced in the Philippines but first class is made in Japan ![]()
Long wait time on shipping thanks to our faithful USPS.
But everything worked out in the end. Big thanks to Sputnik
I am the first to admit that I have cursed the USPS plenty in the past. Recently though I found a book called âMailmanâ itâs a manâs recounting of his time having to work as a Mail Carrier during the COVID shutdown to keep his family afloat. Itâs a true account and it opened my eyes to what Postal Workers endure day after day as a result of what sort of entity the USPS really is. Needless to say, my view of postal workers has changed entirely. The nice thing for me is this happened right in my back yard and I know many of the places the author described. He was trained in Roanoke which is where I live and worked out of Blacksburg just up the road from us. Anyways⌠Iâm not one to criticize anyone for having an opinion and I donât mean for you to take this as any negative reaction towards you or anyone for expressing their frustrations. Itâs just when I saw this comment it reminded me and I feel like all Americans should read this or listen to the audiobook which is read by the author who lived it. There is some language in it⌠some people wonât be bothered by it but I wanted to add that warning. Maybe we could all learn to appreciate the hard working men and women who provide a valuable service to us all each day while enduring many hardships to perform this service. Itâs a very well presented view into the everyday goings on of all of our very hard working postal workers out there. Anyways⌠if there are any Postal Workers here⌠Thank you for your service. ![]()
Usps is criminally underfunded and overworked for such a necessary service.
The postal service was conceived as a pure public service, and functioned that way for nearly two centuries. Since 1971 it has had to operate like a commercial business. Rather than giving the USPS an annual budget based on the need for updated equipment and more staff to keep the service running smoothly, its budget is strangled by the requirement to be financially independent and profitable all on its own. It is a testament to the incredible dedication of its beleaguered staff that it has been able to function as well as it has for the last half century. But for the last several years it feels as though the USPS has been holding on by its fingernails, and it actually only just barely functions at all, having had five decades to perfect the art of hiding it well.
I donât ever get mad at the brown or purple or red white and blue carriers of our packages. As I interacted with my local office I did nothing but praise them for their service and help over the years and commented things happen and it was ultimately resolved quickly without incidence. Sure it might be frustrating at times, but it is the nature of the supply chain whatever product is using it. Patience and attitude go so much further than getting mad at the people that drop off at your location on the daily. I alway feel a good attitude will be remembered way longer than an attitude. It might even result in better daily service.
Now mind you⌠when I said I cursed them, it was not ever directed at the carriers who drop the package. I have special words for those types of people ![]()
I meant more cursing the air at the institution. ![]()
I hear you. I wasnât saying I donât do the same either
It just my way of hoping I get continued good service.
just like anything in the world itâs never black and white. for every dutiful faithful postal employee, there are ones like mine who donât do their jobs. im not saying this to crap on anyone in particular (other than my postal carrier), but i do just want to point out that it isnât all unjustified or out of proportion, and a job title shouldnât earn you praiseâŚhow you carry out that job should
Thank you @Lydia for making my dumpster fire dreams finally come true!
