What did you get in the mail, 2025?

Received an incredibly generous care package from @AudreySickburn today - to celebrate me having another baby. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: And I LOVE the colours. Can’t wait to dig into them when I have the time. Plus I’m looking forward to polishing this BLUE STEEL heart yo-yo.

Thank you Andy, you are a super kind and wonderful community member. You are also kind of the Weird Al of yo-yo designers.

PS: also is it just me or are your prints getting even cleaner? Everything looks so beautiful. And this heart yo-yo is already super crisp!

They did mention upgrading a nozzle a little while ago, but I’m good for confabulating things now and again llm

This little fixie jem came in the mail today from a friend who sent me a care package for my knee surgery. I was shocked and love it!!

Yes! I switched to a diamond tipped nozzle to improve my metal filled prints. The heart I sent I still from the old nozzle but it’s made a big difference in improving quality, especially with tricky materials.

I plan to modify my hot end to take a diamond tip nozzle cause it would be fantastic

What kind of filament is the waffle portion made from? It has a stone/cement like texture and its hefty. I really like it!

That’s made from Proto-Pasta stainless steel filament.

Did I forget to send you a waffle stomper? I can’t tell, but I only see the counterweight and not the actual yoyo lol. It would not be the first time I ADHD’ed something for a box.

lol yes, there was no waffle stomper in the box. But no worries, you sent me lots of great stuff. Is there metal filament in the weirder Pal? It has some heft to it!

Argh! lol well I’ll send a follow up box with a set of breakfast yo-yos when I finish them (waffle, pancake, and egg)

I didn’t answer your question lol but the weirder pal is not metal filled. It’s made from my normal HTPLA but at 100% infill (solid plastic with no empty space) so it gives it some weight.

Those all sound awesome. I will also need to send you something in that case.

You can also sand and polish it! Here are before and after photos of the brass heart Andy sent me earlier this year. What did you get in the mail, 2025? - #826 by Xanadu

I have been experimenting with tumbling it because I don’t have the patience to sand and polish it manually.

Waffle Stompers?

I make them! If you want to request a yoyo I don’t want any money, I work off of karma. When someone reaches out asking for one I ask that you promise to donate some money, goods, or time to a charity or your local women’s shelter and dm me your address.

I’m disabled so sometimes there is a wait while I get stuff together as an fyi.

Inventory wise I have 4 waffles left from the 40 I made. (How have I sent out so many???)

My Ultem prototypes are here!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh. Let’s go!!!

Forgive the machine shop dust in the gap from their bead blasting, I was too excited to perfectly clean them before taking the first glamour shots.

Here are some cleaned up shots in natural lighting.

Gotta say I was really cooking with these, they play like melted butter, plus those smooth fat worry stone rims and the little baby pull start bubble :pinched_fingers:. I played with one until my disability violently forced me to sit down and now I stare longingly at it and make use of its worry stone qualities.

It has some real butterscotch/caramel vibes for sure.
