That FG Dazzler is beauty, if only I win lottery, I would put bands for it
This looks so good!!
What does a FG Dazzler typically go for? Haven’t seen one in a while
The last one I saw that had some slight damage was right around 1k. I want to say it was like 2-3 years ago someone was offering 2k for a mint one. @yogurt
The Benson Fok Sleipnir is awesome!
I almost cop one for $950 in 2022 with small dink but I gather funds so late. Mint one typically go for at least 1-1.5k and had seen some offer go up to 2.5k for quick buy in around 2020-2021. The current market might no longer prime for YYR if put this randomly on BST so mostly FG Dazzler is sold in private deal between YYR collectors.
Many interesting new products arrived to me by the end of the year, and several more are on the way, so I will show you one by one)
Today - Atmos Tide. It’s the flagship of the organic shape with a capital F, even a year after its release.
I did not have high expectations about this yo-yo, since I had already tried many titanic yo-yos of a similar shape and understood what they were like on a string. But Tide feels a little different.
Excellent stability, a wide gap (Sochi XL in several layers fit without problems), light but stable when changing trajectory. It reminded me a little of my favorite Nickel Cascade, and this is a big plus. I tried it on different Side Effects, I liked the Orbs the most (both visually and in weight).
I got this in the mail last year actually but only recently had a good spot to put it up; it’s one of my favorite things about my new apartment.
It’s a commission I asked Higby to do based on a piece they’d had listed on their website a while ago called Throw and Burst:
I’d actually had my eye on that piece and wanted to purchase it myself but it sold before I had the opportunity, which is what inspired me to reach out to John about a commission. He’d mentioned in the description of Throw and Burst that it was a 1-of-1 so to keep it that way for the purchaser I asked him to use the color scheme from the mandala that Courtenay Pollack created as album art for the 1972-08-27 “Sunshine Daydream” concert.
If you weren’t aware of Courtenay, they were friends with the Grateful Dead and made a lot of the tie-dye mandala backdrops that they played in front of and continues to make incredible tie-dye art for both the public and artists like Dark Star Orchestra (a highly regarded Grateful Dead cover band). For example:
the Grateful Dead stage set up at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA
and here’s one from this summer when I saw DSO at the same venue:
The Sunshine Daydream concert took place in Veneta, OR as a benefit show for the Springfield Creamery which (fun fact) was founded by Ken Kesey’s brother Chuck and was the first creamery in the USA to use live probiotics in their yogurt which is standard now. The show went down in history as one of the Dead’s best and it was extremely fortunately filmed for the Sunshine Daydream documentary; while it unfortunately doesn’t have the whole concert it’s still incredible to be able to watch high-def video of a legendary concert from over 50 years ago. You can read more about that concert here and watch a snippet from it if you’re so inclined:
But I digress…
Picked up this AtDesign b-grade matte nickel ZERO from the holiday sale.
Feels like a sleepy kitty video game binge day today.
Hell yeah another dead fan. 8/27/72 is a classic! That playing is
Stardew! A great game. We own WAY too many copies on various devices in our household.
We even have the board game!
Deadheads unite! We should start a club lol
How does it play?
I brought one of these and a Code 2 to my yoyo club, playing them back to a lot of people agreed that they have a similar feel somehow, with the Ring Bearer being much more modern and high performance of course.
I was finally able to order a butterball today! They are back in stock
It plays super well, very fast and stable. I honestly need to get a second one of the gold and black
