Eeny……meeny…. miny…… and Mo :scream_cat:

Uh, 2 Edge 2.0’s and a Miracle of Science disguised as an actual Tiny yoyo. I haven’t thrown it yet…… I just seem to be enamored with just staring at it, lol.

Many many years ago when I was working with Dale from Yoyojam on various designs, my primary focus was on smaller than what would be considered normal size yo-yo designs. The object of my goal was to prove that yo-yos when designed and weighted properly, could provide high-performance potential in the right hands.

Starting with an all plastic matrix, we use that as a baseline design, and calculated how to infuse some power into it that would be very obvious on the first throw. The advanced playing style of a good friend, Jason Lee, was enough of an inspiration for me to focus on making the Motrix a real hot rod. Mission accomplished there.

The next step was a project that would also use some pretty aggressive rim weight in a hybrid design, but in a different shape. A different shape must prove that when the weight is distributed properly, within the specifications of the yo-yo, the shape of the yo-yo is not critical, just the way the performance is built into the yo-yo.

About the time that second in the series was ready for production, a good friend of mine, Dave Bazan, had come out with a smaller than average yo-yo, which was also plastic with metal rims. It was called the menehune. The menahune is from Polynesian folklore. The menahune were said to be very small evil creatures that would come out at night and terrorize the Villagers.

The name of my second yo-yo was to be Mo 2. Simple…… but a thought came to mind that altered that choice. It just flashed in front of my eyeballs.
…. The ‘MiniMotu’. I told Dale, it sounds like a rival tribe of little evil creatures…. Mini-Mo-Tu’s. (So, the Tu(2) provides not only a numerical order value, but a Polynesian infusion… the Mo-too’)…Haha

I kept Midgetizing the concept in my mind. Can we shrink the Motu down some more and still get ‘some juice’ out of it? And that is how the Micro-Mo was born. It stopped there because I ran out of creativity for that series.

Now…… all these years later and I am very honored that Sturm Panzer would even mention the design is loosely based on the Motu shape.

Amazing precision for sure…

PS… the Evan 2.0 is simply an Outstanding value.
I don’t have the slightest idea how a company could retail a yo-yo at such a reasonable price?

I understand as we all do, that there are several companies that are providing some pretty good metal yo-yos at some amazingly reasonable prices. This 2.0, is right at the front of the pack of price/performance/value/etc…

Plays great it is a true mini the only other yoyo I have that’s smaller is the La grange, I don’t feel like I have to play it or throw it any differently despite it’s small size the only time I’m reminded it’s a mini is on binds, sometimes I have to reach for it, it spins long but not very powerfully not really a knock just part of being a mini a shorter string might help, it’s still quite impressive for it’s size and a really cool use of Ti both with the anodization and design. I think it would make a great edc yoyo its small performs well very fun looks cool around the price of a Bi-metal, and you’re not going to crush it or hurt it. I haven’t tried the string yet.

Oo I’ve been debating getting some Kot-n string. The YYE cotton string is great, I use it for all my wood yoyos, but it feels oddly rough in the Cavemen Go.

All I had was an old package of Duncan cotton that I use on some vintage Duncans. I ordered Two packs of the ZipLine Kot-n but probably will go with YYE on the next order as the ZipLine is $2.00 a string

Yes. TopYo did it again. Price to value ratio on Topyos is just crazy. It is machined flawless. Ano inside blasted, cup glossy. This is for 35$ just awesome.

Is a pretty close match. The Hinemosu is definitely faster and lighter with the same power but I mean it also costs seven times as much.

That looks amazing

You can’t go wrong for the price. Except you have already an Hinemosu then maybe it is not a necessary purchase.

I’ve been also considering buying an Noema from topyo for awhile, the overall specs are right up my alley and it looks similar to shutter evo.
