That guy had another pair of Da Vinci and paragraph sell to someone bidding like crazy yesterday for $82+8 shipping. I was hoping to get the same deal as the last one like you haha. You definitely got a steal on that one. The only silver lining is I really like the purple body purple rims one alot and that’s the one I’m looking at getting now. Still for $14 extra in my pocket and a paragraph Id probably take the black one haha. I also kinda really like that greenish one with the rainbow rims but probably too hard to track down at this point for the right price. You liking the Da Vinci?

I am liking it a lot so far! It’s fast and light for sure. Nice stability due to the rim weight and the catch zone feels huge. It kind of does remind me of a lighter, faster version of the Klondike. I really like this type modern competitive bimetal design that’s been getting popular. Super stable and spins for days. I’ll have to check out some more of this type in the future!

I think out of all the Da Vinci finishes all black is my second favorite with the rainbow rims being first. No way I’d be getting the rainbow rim green one for this kind of price though.

It’s really nice! First of all, I don’t know exactly what I was expecting given its weight of 70 grams, but apparently, I thought that it was going to feel heavy. I say that because one of my first thoughts was “There’s no way that this is 70g!” I suppose it does feel ever so slightly heavier than a ‘normal’ yoyo in the 65g range, but it’s a very subtle difference. When I used to throw my TP Kiwi (76g), on my first few throws I’d think “Wow, this is SO heavy!” And then, after switching back to a normally-weighted yoyo, I’d think “Ah, now that feels much better!”

But the Steadfast isn’t like that at all. It feels really close to a normally weighted yoyo and plays much lighter than the 70g would suggest. Although I suppose that it does make me want to be a slight bit more assertive when changing directions. But overall, the weight just seems to give it more power and spin times. I have a couple of different front-style combos that I like to do, and for kicks, I tried to do both of them back-to-back with the Steadfast without binding and relying on another throw. It handled the combos with ease, and still came back solidly on the final bind. For my next test, I tried to do the DNA, as that and finger spins/grinds are my favorite kinds of tricks. It took a bit more effort since it doesn’t have fingerspin dimples, but if I angle it I can successfully fingerspin it and do the DNA. Since it’s a raw finish, I figured that grinds would really suck but I tried them anyway. I had to angle my finger a tad higher to prevent it from gaining traction, but I could still get grinds that lasted for more than three seconds with it. That was kind of surprising since I figured that the finish would pretty much prevent any grinding from taking place, but maybe the extra weight and spin time contribute to the better grind times. I’d imagine that the black colorway would be fantastic for grinds since it probably has a traditional finish, but sadly, I only got one of them. Just thinking about the black one makes me wonder what it would look like to split them so that you’d have a raw yoyo one one side and a black finish on the other - I’ll bet that would look awesome!

The other pleasant surprise was the binding. I usually like thinner strings, preferably polyester with a bit of nylon mixed in it. But when I first strung up the Steadfast, I used an XL fat poly string that was draped over the couch from another yoyo. Surprisingly, the Steadfast performed great with it and never snagged. That’s really good news because a lot of my throws are a bit snaggy with that particular type of string. But I’ve got a ton of that string because it was cheap and I really love the different colors, so I’m very pleased that it works so well with the Steadfast. Plus, the raw colorway goes with all different colors of strings. In the end, I tried it with over a dozen different types of strings and it fared really well. I was able to get it to slip a bit with some super thin nylon, but pretty much all of my yoyos do that with that specific string. But even with a slim 10-count thread string, the binds were great. And when I tried some of my favorite poly/nylon blends with it, binds were a dream.

Lastly, it’s super smooth. It’s so smooth, that I tried to do a fingernail vibe check and basically got nothing. But it’s got this pleasant little humming sound when it’s spinning, so it’s not totally devoid of all sensations.

So overall, I’m really happy with it. It looks great, binds really well, and has a prominent presence on the string - all of which come together for a great throwing experience. I would love to get my hands on one of the black ones, but they are not cheap. However, if you handed this yoyo to an experienced player and told them that it costs over a hundred dollars, I’m sure that almost everyone would agree that it both feels like it and is worth it. It seems to ooze quality, I suppose as a result of a bunch of different aspects that combine nicely with its weight. I’m guessing that the little bit of extra weight may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I don’t consider it a detriment at all. If anything, I usually lean toward lighter yoyos with my Coglite (63g) being a good example of a light-feeling yoyo. But I feel as though the extra weight gives the Steadfast some character and differentiates it from the crowd. It never feels heavy, but I’m occasionally a bit surprised by how it can come back with so much force if I decide to bind early.

Is it just a regular clear? It looks amazing for some reason

Yep, regular clear. This photo was made with flash, maybe that’s why… I think clear is the best pyramatte color

That must be it. I think the silver mini spikes are helping to make it look so extra special. I gotta find some mini spikes

They were selling them on their site last I checked.

Edit: just checked, red and clear in stock

Thank you! Just grabbed one of each. I need to check their site more often. They have a bunch of yo-yos in stock right now too. I stopped checking cuz it seemed like they never had anything on there except for drops.

Dude! How’d you get the blue cenote?! And what’s that middle one? I need all 3 of these.

Edit: just realized it’s a parlay. The mini spikes make everything look so cool and almost unrecognizable.

I think it was you I was talking to the other day about the cenotes wasn’t it? I was looking for one but the only color left in stock anywhere is the sugar sand and I wasn’t crazy about that. I ended adding a blue Cenote to my LF post where I was looking primarily for a capstan. Well someone eventually replied to it and had them both minty! So I swooped them. Traded a kuntosh for the parlay and added those SE myself. Those are actually code1’s if I’m not mistaking but I could be wrong

Nice man! What a grab! There’s so many SE I’ve never heard of. I need to do some research.

And that capstan looks gas

I’m extremely happy with all of them! Just had to swap the Bee’s bearing 'cause the one that I got was rusty. Lol.
By the way, I have you to thank for letting us know about the deadstock bees. :honeybee: :handshake:

Hard to believe the 5ive is just $13. Feels and plays really well. It’s like a simplified, slimmer El Mijo PC.

Speaking of the El Mijo PC, it exceeded my expectations with how sleek it looks, feels, and plays. It may be my favorite modern responsive yoyo right now. @jeduardo and the team killed it with these. And thanks again to @YoYoExpert for the FAF2023 gift card that I used to buy this (along with the BoltXP).

And the Crop Circles, you can’t go wrong with any of them. But my current favorite is probably that Mini as it feels the most different compared to the Osage proto that I’ve been playing, while being a cute mini version of it. It’s so cool!

Your post here and @Overtinkering on IG inspired me to pull out my polycarb el mijo while out by the river. I do really want a 5ive though I imagine it’s just a polycarb impact but that sounds fantastic.
