Unresponsive? Really? How does that play? I always got the impression that turning slimline responsives into slimline unresponsives was a sure-fire recipe for unsatisfying play.

I have one of my Deep States set up as unresponsive and it’s a hell of a lot of fun actually!

IMO The Gamer plays better unresponsive with the full sized C bearing than responsive with the 1/2 spec C. Personally for me at 66 grams The Gamer is to heavy for responsive play unnecessarily punishing your knuckles, and with the diameter being under 55mm and the C diameter bearing the walls don’t hold stalls all that well for modern responsive flip tricks and stall moves compared to it’s competition. For responsive play The Gamer would have benefitted from an A sized bearing and shedding 8 to 10 grams and it would be a killer responsive throw. Set up bind return unresponsive, it becomes a great pocket trainer that doesn’t snap back, being 66 grams it has the weight to keep it spinning through combos and helps me clean up my play. I really like its shape and finish. It a fun challenge to play. It comes with the two bearings so it came with that option which is how I like to play it. Give it a try.

I’m throwing this Yomega x YoyoJam Odyssey.I have it set up unresponsive(ish) with yyf white pads and a concave bearing. It isn’t that unresponsive because I don’t have shims, but it means I have to clean up my play. It’s a really solid player considering it’s an organic plastic from like 5 years ago.

After the ‘sleeper yoyo’ thread I decided to pick up my YYF/Yotricks Canon and have been throwing it for the past few days. My first modern metal unresponsive, and I still think it throws great.

On vacation, so I’ve been throwing plastic skyva, blues, L3 and interlagos exclusively. I used to not like the interlagos too much when I first got it, but I’m actually starting to love it. Mine has a super tiny wobble but it’s still very much playable, and the d*ckbutt pinky minky combination is real beautiful
