Modern responsive throwing has made all my old yoyos useful again. Here’s my Duncan Ballistic from 1999 or so. This yoyo has steel balls under the sidecaps that can be moved to the outer rim (sleeping) or center (looping). It’s other claim to fame seems to be it was the first production Duncan to use a ball bearing. The side cap art isn’t the original as I think those are ugly, so I made my own.
This is the first version of the Ballistic that has a narrower string gap and starbursts (later went to wider gap with friction stickers). But, just like I did with my Yomega Fireball, I put a friction sticker right over the starburst to help with response and it’s a new favorite of mine for stalls and all that fun stuff.
