The Sengoku ECRIP (and, I’m assuming the production model, the ECRIM) is very good for finger spins. That said, the ECRIP (which is the prototype) seems to be a polarizing yoyo, the inner cup doesn’t stick out a lot, but, it does stick out enough to catch the string and change yoyo direction. I’ve been playing around with intentionally using the cups, but, I have a long way to go before I would consider myself an expert doing that.
It is a fun yoyo, it will fingerspin as long as you like. The cup basically locks your finger in. The weight distribution is unique, in a good way. I’m sure an engineer or student of physics can provide the correct terminiology, but, you pretty much have the actual yoyo rim and a secondary rim on the cup, which is farther out. I think it makes the yoyo more stable, but, that could be placebo. I thought the Samurai would play similarly, but, it really doesn’t.
I think the ERCIM is okay for fingerspins, the smaller cup is still flat so it doesn’t do as much as it would seem, its a little bit better than most flat cup yoyos but it doesn’t really stand out beyond that.
Outside in blustery 19F (-7C) weather wearing gloves but still need to throw. This John Higby Confetti Cosmos Duncan Freehand Next Gen and Die make the cold a good excuse for 5A fun.
here here!!! besides, you know many times i’ve almost smashed my ipad with my throw while viewing the training videos or browsing the forums simultaneously? ballistic glass screen protectors are must for any modern day old man thrower like us
Even if nobody uses it, it’s a fun idea and it at least shows we’re all willing to give without expecting to receive, which will ultimately bring us all together
So basically for the guys in the States, BST is definitely a thing.
For us Brits, firstly there are a lot fewer people here.
Most shops are based in US, and drops direct from manufacturers like SF and G2 are based in US. So with shipping and tax, it can get expensive real quick for us so we are more limited in what and how much we can buy.
With $14~$15 for shipping from US to UK, BST kind of doesn’t make sense for say a $30 purchase.
So @chaosgow & I started a UK Yoyo Exchange Program so that trusted people can share yoyos with each other so that everyone can try different throws that they don’t own and want to buy/try without having to own a whole library of yoyos themselves.
At the moment there are only 18 members with 20 pending, but we want to keep this group small-ish with only those that we trust.
