What are you throwing today?

Thank you! I typically don’t care for fancy splashes, but I had to have this one.

You got some bi-metals ones man.

This one is for @twitch77. Been loving green lately and took a pic of my modest collection. Playing with all of these lots recently.

What do you think of the 2WEI?

Unforgivingly lovely feeling organic. It’s great for real casual play, and a narrow gap makes for tight binds. It’s one of my favorites as far as feel goes, but it’s not exactly a performer. The way I see it, it’s among the pinnacle of organic throwbacks.

Thanks, sounds like my cup of tea!

Monkeyfinger Conspiracy with the raptor colorway. I hype this yoyo all the time; it’s one of my favorites. Definitely my go to when learning new tricks.

Knowing your preferences by some of your posts, I think you would like it. Binds and regens are amazingly satisfying.

That colorway is fantastic. How does it play compared to other throws?

It’s gonna be a few days still till I can really yo-yo again(I have gout… Don’t ever get gout), but I did spend a few minutes with the Death Adder last night.

So, while not very complete, my initial impressions are very positive. A few things of note (to me anyway, maybe it’ll be useful to someone else)

  • The finish is great. It grinds similarly well to YYF’s new ano, and it looks very nice too—only black yo-yo I have that I can see the contours of in my living room lighting. Really want to see more colors—I might have to buy a second

  • The finger spin cup is awesome. It’s like the best of a flat cup so you don’t have to settle it down and the longer spin of a dimple. Not everyone cares about finger spins but it’s really impressive to non-throwers to see a finger spin followed by a long vortex bind. For me personally, grinds and spins are my meditation—seriously, it relaxes me like few things can, and a lot of my recent throws don’t grind or finger spin well at all, so this is kinda great for me.

  • I typically like wider yo-yos, but the huge catch zone makes it feel a bit wider than it actually is. I expected to have to get used to it a bit, but not at all. Feels like I’m playing with a 45mm throw.

  • It’s got great power and stability without feeling heavy or slow. It makes my other bi-metals feel like boulders. I can play it faster with more precision than the majority of my yo-yos. It does lose stability as spin dies a bit faster than my “boulders”, but it actually stays stable longer than I expected.

  • It’s way more comfortable to catch and throw than I would have guessed.

The Death Adder seems to me technically excellent without neglecting the fun. I am dying to play with it more. And it’s beautiful to look at, which I’ve noticed is important to a lot of people.

Im really glad you like it! Did you get stainless steel or the brass one?

Brass. More power and stability is better for me at this point, plus it looks amazing.

Ya for brass it feels really light with how much power it has.

For sure man. I don’t have anything even comparable, really. More stable and it’s a rock, lighter feeling and it’s sorta unstable. It’s like the bi-metal golden ratio.
