I’m currently working on a second run of waffle stompers in a new colorway! Had enough demand I ran out of the first dozen.

If I get ambitious I was going to deshield and clean the wide mr85s and see if I could make it unresponsive.

All right, I’ll try to record a video

I freaking love this thing, it plays so good. Great work, and the material used feels ridiculously premium.

May I ask what material you used?

The outer waffle is made with Proto-Pasta Stainless Steel PLA it’s 60% powdered ss with 40% PLA plastic.

It’s much heavier than normal plastic and pushes weight out into the rims and compensates for the lost weight from the holes. If you have free time and elbow grease it will also polish up to a gleaming anodized aluminum appearance. (I didn’t do that)

The steel is not suitable for bearing seats so those are made with Proto-Pasta Holiday Pine HTPLA

The counterweight is printed from Recreus Filaflex 82A

The brake pads are printed in Filaflex 82A Footwearology Edition which is primarily intended for 3d printed shoes.

This new run will be done in the same stainless steel filament but the gold color version. I don’t know what the gap and bearing seat will be. When the printer yells at me to change filament from steel I’m gonna peruse my shelves and pick something.

Thank you, awesome breakdown.

It’ll be cool to see what color you use to go with the golden shower drain/waffle.

I can also confirm the holiday pine filament does actually smell like pine while printing. Maybe if you throw a real zinger it’ll let off some scent. Go ahead, sniff the waffle.

After thinking about it, I have a roll of deep red cinnamon scented filament. Doing another scent could be funny and the cinnamon is a stronger scent.

Deep red isn’t usually the color you want in a waffle stomp, so please see your doctor if reality matches the yoyo.

Did you source some wide ones?

I find they also work great lubed up. It lets you do string tricks and still have snappy response.

I put a wide in my MR85 freehand that I got from pyro and it’s perfection. I was hoping to make it unresponsive but the gap is still surprisingly small, but big enough for kwijibo, which I can’t hit with any other MR85 throws.

I’d be very excited to see an unresponsive model from you!

Yes yesterday I ordered 24 of the 4 mm wide MR85s! They have to get to me from China though, could take a while.

I am experimenting early on with some unresponsive stuff, messing around with a d bearing keyhole idea. Early stages. Unresponsive isn’t my jam usually so I work on it sporadically lol.
