What are you throwing 2025?

I’m throwing the 3d printed tops from @TryCatchThrow . I think I’ve become a Trompo snob and only like certain Trompo models. But these are very high on my list of likes! My new EDC.

I haven’t tried lyocell with poly yet. I will spin some up this week and let you know. From what I have used of it so far, its like a less slippery rayon and slightly less dense but plays in a very similar way.

Loving the color on this canopy al. It’s such a pale shade that it’s like it’s reflecting the color of something that isn’t there. Warlock again as usual

Been giving the Y-Factor some love

Wish I could find out more about it, got it in a trade and I adore it. Love the “side effect” adjacent axle system, and it is so smooth and stable. I do know this was the first OD to feature Pyramatte, so that’s cool.

Edit: asked OD a question about the NQP mystery boxes (they are already sealed up waiting for shipment, so no half swaps. True mystery!), so I figured I’d ask a follow up:

Neat!!

I decided to toss around a yo-yo that I made about 21 to 22 years ago.

Made from scratch from barstock Delrin, and has bearing tips.

The double O-ring design and a quarter inch stainless steel axle kind of date when the mod was done.

Almost as long ago, Frank Difeo Was having a birthday closing in fast on the calendar. I told him I would give him a custom yo-yo from my collection. I thought it was funny because he was so good at making yo-yos, he certainly never needed one of mine.

But I’m sure people like to collect other people‘s work. I mean, I certainly have enough yo-yos from all over the place.

I called him up and told him to pick the yo-yo you want, no restrictions you name it you got it. He laughed and said well in that case you can send me ‘The Thing’.

I had never even given it a single thought that he would pick that particular yo-yo. So after I took my foot out of my mouth, I sent him the yo-yo.

I shrugged my shoulders, wished him a happy birthday and told him to get on mail watch for the box.

All these years later, sadly actually beyond sadly Frank passed away a little over a year ago.

From what I heard, Frank had mentioned to his wife if anything ever happened to him to get my yo-yo back to me. I wasn’t there to see it personally, but that is what I heard from a reliable source.

So I would guess this has to be my prized possession For several different reasons now.

To make a custom yo-yo that you really enjoy and give it to one of your best friends and then the poor guy dies And you end up getting the yo-yo back is quite a miracle in my mind. His wife was a real sweetheart for sending it back.

Since Delrin is pretty much timeless, The yo-yo is as new as the day I sent it to him. The only downside is that they must’ve done a lot of smoking in the household because if you notice, the Delrin Has kind of a tea stain to it, which would be the direct result of exposure to cigarette smoke or pipe smoke or cigar smoke. But whatever kind of smoke, Delrin Does not change color like that just from time passing.

So I guess if nothing else, it’s even more custom than the day I sent it to him. Because now it’s a custom color.

I’m going to upgrade the double O-rings to pads.
I think that will make the response a little more consistent on bin returns.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it. It’s one of a kind.
