What are you throwing 2025?

I stuck the same star stickers that I put on everything on my 74s. Been making good progress, I’ll try to film and post some tricks at some point lol!

Organic September Day 7:

Atmos Projects Tide
I love this yoyo. My first titanium. All the floaty fun of yesterday’s Noah with a little more weight on the string and a good bit more power/spin. Add in the wonderful reverberations of the material and this is a throw that will forever have a place in my collection.
A ball of fun, indeed!

Have been spending some more time with all my organics, decided to bust out the Freehand Zero. The orange string really pops on it, and the counterweight @MinerJ feels perfect with it all.

Higby painted clear FHZ still running brake pads, and a new concave A, as well as transparent glow in the dark FH1 caps. Zeekio thin nylon, MinorJ soft cw.

I don’t understand how @unklesteve and everyone in that era were/ are able to shred so hard on these things! Not that it’s a “bad” throw, I love it, but the gap and pads are quite unforgiving. I was watching some older videos and trying to find some more freehand history, so my mind was blown a few times last night haha.
Responsive 5a is so much fun tho, and this FHZ has such personality; I find it hard to put down.

September 7. CLYW Leaf. Ok ok I know it’s not a true organic but when you get a new toy in the mail you can’t not play with it lol. It’s rounded enough for me to justify :joy:

Organic September Day 8:

Atmos Projects Cloudberry
I can’t post organics from Atmos without including the one that started it all. Floaty, nimble, and agile with enough power to handle most anything you can throw at it (and that finish…:blue_heart::light_blue_heart::purple_heart:).

The thing to remember is that we were coming from yoyos with wooden or metal axles, which are not only less forgiving than these, but the spin time was like 1/10th as long. We were already moving very fast and very smooth to avoid the knuckle dusters…moving to a yoyo like this was moving UP at the time.

Now you are moving backwards and that is dramatically harder ha ha…but definitely worthwhile if you want to really smooth out your play. I’ve gotten lots of comments in recent years about how smoothly I play and you can definitely look at the players from my era and see how we all have a specific kind of pacing and timing to our play. Our muscle memory is still trying hard not to get us wrecked lol
