Hearing somebody admit that a slimline pointed out their technique flaws is really refreshing. Very true that most modern designs are incredibly forgiving. Practice on that deep state will do good things for your skills
Those look really nice, I almost picked one up but went for the solid woody instead.
I was a little disappointed with the woody to be honest, I found the gap a little too wide.

Why does it require relubing so often? Does thick lube breakdown more quickly?
I would highly recommend getting a rubber shielded C-Bearing to keep the grease/thick lube in teh bearing longer. I use rubber shielded bearings in all my responsive throws.
Thanks Mike!!!
Thanks ill look into those! Who sells them?
Thick lube breaks down, not sure how quickly, but im just not a fan of the semi responsive feel. I want my deep state super snappy. Kills the spin time, can still do brain twister and split the atom, just have to play really clean.
They’re quite common, look up R188-2RS (R188 is the common part number for C-bearings, -2RS means double rubber shield)
my deep state is super snappy, and i havent regreased it in over a month lol. still can do STA with a hard throw and clean play
Yea i know its right when the bearing barely moves when i snap it.
But i dont keep shields on bearings in general. If im being honest theyre annoying. I use yoyofactory thick lube in it. Maybe I should use a grease?
if you want to keep a responsive yoyo responsive, you need shields. lube will just leak out quick if you dont, hence my recommendation for a rubber shielded bearing. the rubber shields actually SEAL the bearing, metal shields dont actually seal.
I havent tried thick lube, so im not sure whether thick lube or grease would work better for you. i use silicone grease for all my responsive throws.
Interesting, sadly annoying(i suck at taking them out. What brand of silicone grease is it and what store can i get it at?

What is it?
I love semi-responsive. It helps me get through some elements. I like the feeling of having training wheels.
I wouldnt call it training wheels, its for sure a style of its own to mix 1a and 0a. Its really cool.
Semi responsive just scares me, i never know what the yoyos gonna do
