What are you throwing, 2022?

I’ve been in the process of recording a trick every day with my entire collection, but these two have weaseled their way into getting thrown daily despite the forced variety. Quercus and Magnolia with Kitty fat and XL

Awesome pair! @mable glad you got these and skipped the lisianthus and Laurus.

While I do love my Lisianthus (Laurus is ok but definitely not worth the price imo) I totally agree the Magnolia and Quercus are just killer, and a pair of sakuras is a great cherry (blossom) on top :cherry_blossom:

While I’m still throwing the Wave, this came in the mail: a Yomega Hyper Warp Heavy Wing (2011).

I had a Yomega Hyper Warp Wing growing up and always wanted the HWHW. One day at club this year that yo-yo came up and someone mentioned that Yomega had released a new yo-yo under that name. Given it’s a plastic over 10 years old there weren’t any in stock anywhere, but fortunately one popped up on eBay recently so I was finally able to try it.

It’s really good! Tug responsive which I wasn’t exactly expecting at 67.5g but it works pretty well. The gap is thin and it doesn’t use a C bearing (it used a size J/“Yomega Large”) but all of this together gives it a pretty unique and fun feeling on the string, the weight giving it enough power to do some pretty modern stuff.

It also makes me want to track down an Ooch-Yo, which is essentially the same yo-yo but re-worked to use a C bearing and plays unresponsive.

Anyways, enough text, here are the pictures you’re here to see :stuck_out_tongue:

Just look at that little gap!

And, the obligatory Rancid Milk:

Playing around with this Durendal last night.

You would dig it the most, they play a little lighter with an uncanny plastic smoothness, compared to the 2. Though the Bolt 2 can finger spin, so you need both.

Mini Travel Throws: A perfect combination.

The La’Grange is perfect for unresponsive. Not too difficult to work on proffiiciency.

The Toonie is great with a slim A bearing. Works well as a responsive.

What fun! And perfect for my pending week long Thanksgiving trip.

How is this versus the El Mijo? I seem to read more love in the forums for the RBC, though general recognition that the El Mijo is excellent as well.

The RBC is a FANTASTIC throw. It is simply unmatched in my opinion for 0A modern responsive. It is super fun to throw and its response is perfect.

That being said, the El Mijo is an awesome throw. I throw it more than any other at this moment. The bearing blank makes it my favorite fixed throw. With the slim bearing its response is pretty close to the RBC, but it has more of a thud at the end of the string. With the concave it is a great unresponsive that really allows one to hone skills due to its slim nature. I have been throwing it with the wide flat bearing flooded with thick lube. I have really been enjoying this setup, because its response is very predictable, but it still allows for any string trick that I am capable of. I also found a small headphone case that holds all the parts, a few strings and the yoyo. It makes a very small and portable EDC carry that can be setup in multiple configurations.

Gun to my head, I am not sure I could pick my favorite out of the two. Both great and inspiring throws.
