Something Eric old and something Eric new. I can’t believe how good the $30 market is these days! I would have been soooo excited to be able to get something as good as the uppercut for $30 (still am)! No offense to the northstar, protostar or plastic GM
(still nostalgic yoyos I’d enjoy), but this thing is soooo good.
I picked up mine this weekend as well! First yoyo I bought when I got into the hobby last year but I only played it responsive. Learned to forward pass on it, not my smartest choice but I fear nothing now.
we are peers !!!
Thank you! I think we may have chatted a bit before?
Sky Jump is cool! I got to play the add-a-ball version, Free Fall, at Free Play Florida a few weeks back. Actually rolled it twice in the same game
This is our 4th Bally now, I just keep coming across great deals on sweet Bally games!
Pictures some other time, the game room is still kinda torn apart from shopping Hang Glider yesterday and I’m starting to troubleshoot logic on it now (having to manually trigger a game start, everything else appears to function).
So, the current lineup is:
Bally Time Zone
Bally Hang Glider
Bally Four Million BC
Bally Eight Ball
Spooky Rick and Morty
We are now at capacity for the Game Room, at least for full size pins. Still have room for a cocktail pin and/or maybe 1 arcade cabinet down the road before I have to start converting the garage
I honestly didn’t appreciate out until now. It’s a lot better thank what I thought it was.
One of my favorite throws
OK, yess! I remember seeing your R&M in the “mail 2021” topic. Still haven’t gotten to try that game, but I think I know a couple of people who have it so eventually.
I’ve always had better luck fixing Bally than other EMs. I’m sure you’ll get it (maybe with some help from Lloyd or someone on Pinside).
I anyways wanted one of those cocktail glass topped videos. Pac-Man would be epic or maybe gallaga. Some of them have more than one cart installed.
Outlier 2 today. Also, I’m offended that my car was covered in ice this morning seeing as I live in Florida. UGH. At least at made for a nice picture though.
Yes, I did post that there last year!
It’s a really harsh game, but once you dial in the shots its a total banger, well worth all of its accolades.
Hah, hopefully I won’t need any help, I’ve gotten pretty handy at troubleshooting the EMs. Pinside has been a great resource, had a lot of help from folks on there with my first pin a few years ago. I kind of miss ol’ Arnold’s giant head sometimes
Honestly, I enjoy fixing the EMs more than the SS and newer stuff, it’s so much simpler (and normally cheaper too!)
Those are cool! I’m thinking cocktail pinball, Allied Leisure made a bunch of em in the 70s, if I recall correctly. They used to have one at a place near us, Hearts and Spades. Wife loved that game! I tried to buy it when they closed, but someone else had beaten me to it.
I’m not really familiar with that machine, but the layout looks good. That’s great. I’ve only dabbled in repairing EMs and have usually been lucky with any issues, because I’ve never successfully read an EM schematic and understood it to where it helped.
Clay’s old guide helped me with some System 11 repairs, but it really felt like I was in one of those movies where the expert is telling someone how to diffuse a bomb over the phone. I just followed step by step and was relieved and surprised when it worked.
I have a background in low voltage, so reading schematics, using a multimeter, and soldering were all skills I already had (lucky me!)
For the schematics, read the key for the symbols. Sometimes they use common electrical symbols for switches, resistors and such. So you can look those up separately. Otherwise, each line represents a physical wire and they’re all color coded!
It’s also easier to follow if you can print them out full size from a plotter.
Otherwise, experience is the best teacher, keep at it!
Easily my most loved 2021 throw: RSO MechaBape SE…!
Was curious about a different Halfswap and it turned out lovely imho - what do you think, Guys?
I hate That!
You’ve got to strike while the iron is hot.
Most excellent Sir.
Well done.
Also your dinner looks fantastic. Please send some over.
