What are you throwing, 2022?

Yeah if you’re early on in your journey and playing over something hard. You’re GOING to hit the floor and ding it.

People used to make a big deal about this. But more and more people seem to be realising you can just push/hammer/pop the ring back on and although it’ll be slightly vibey. It’ll still be perfectly playable. The type of ring doesn’t really matter in that case.
I think outer rims move a little easier maybe…but they’re also easier to push back on. So in the end it’s just a matter of preference I think.

Alright, threw them back to back for a couple of trick.

Couple of pictures together.

The flame seems a little more fast/lighter in play. But the Centrifugal absolutely destroys it on spin time, power and returning at low rpm.

The flame, however nice the Centrifugal is, is a lot more comfortable in catch and grind aspects. (mind you, I have the polished centrifugal which isn’t great for grinds but I’m talking about a comfort thing here.
The design of the flame has hardly a straight line or an edge, it’s all rounded off curves and rounded edges everywhere.

Centrifugal is a bit more harsh in that aspect although it doesn’t have any really sharp edges either. It IS a really comfortable yoyo. But compared to the Flame most things are just hot garbage unless they’re straight up organics.

Honestly the flame is like “what if we made a performance throw…but with nods to organic flowing elements” and I love it for that.

When it comes to certain specific tricks though the Flame is the clear winner. It grinds like a champ, fingerspins like a demon with that flat cup. And has the overhanging thumb grind lip that just almost locks your nail in to place.

The centrifugal does have a little more inwards sloping string catch area.

So in short, for just straight up performance, power, spin time. Centrifugal

For “weird” tricks and comfort, Flame.

And for me, for a beater that I’ve thrown to hell and back and don’t have to worry about damaging anymore… Flame. (Also I freaking LOVE the color combo on the flame.)

@jeduardo Great pic!

Is that a red El MiJo in the background? If so, would you mind grabbing a pic of the Knuckleyo in yo-yo mode next to it? Thanks if you can!
