What determined pro vs amateur?

Generally amateur is for people who are just starting to compete and in real contests your not allowed to compete in amateur if you have ever competed in pro.

(oh and btw you r allowed to compete in amateur even if you competed in pro " For amateur division, we would prefer for players who have placed top 10 in a pro division yo-yo contest (state, regional, national, etc) or winners in previous Scales Open Amateur contests to not enter.")
