Unpopular opinion: People only say good things in yoyo reviews and leave out the cons too much

I usually don’t check reviews. I’m at the stage where I can look at a design and have a rather accuate idea of how it will feel and perform.

Thank you for your reply I know it was awhile ago, but I had missed it. I know what you mean by desiccant packets (never knew they were called that) and that’s a really great idea to put in bearing storage and will absolutely do that.

That was a really innovative question. I miss Brandon reviewing yoyos, a lot of the names we all know, so it’s nice to see a newer generation doing just that now. I think reviews absolutely matter when purchasing because I think we all influence each other quite a bit. Also, in my younger days, if it was good enough for Brandon Vu it was good enough for me and I found comfort in picking what the pros play with.

Duncan. Evolve and Crescendo are must haves are truly excellent throws..

If I see a throw I’m interested in on the bst too often that’s a :triangular_flag:

This is real.

Although I have noticed with a lot of new releases that there is a period where a few pop up on the BST immediately, and then when the dust settles, do not come back on there.

i think most people are unqualify for me to trust their thoughts of a yoyo (includes me)

if you struggle through rancid milk or spirit bomb and own 7 cheap yoyo why should I care your opinion on if a yoyo is good or not

I want someone like Anthony Rojas to review yoyo!!! a top level player with 10,000 hour in yoyo and experience with 500+ yoyo models in their life

It indicates that atleast the yoyo isnt unanimously loved. I also keep an eye out on who is selling it if I know about their taste a bit.

Yeah it certainly could (and does) indicate that, but I also think its an indicator that they’d prefer the money rather than the yoyo.

There are some folks that have a strong habit of trying lots of yo-yos by buying them at drop and selling them before the hype fades. They basically get the yoyo for a few weeks at best and treat drops like risky library visits…

Would be nice if more of those folk were willing to post overseas.

The retailers who sell out more or less instantly while I’m busy at work would have posted to Australia. Then you get a glut of some models sitting around on the BST cause everyone in USA who wants one already has it
