Unboxing YoYoFactory Spinstar

Spinstar, an entry-level yoyo for beginners, with 59mm diameter, 35mm width, 62g and a A size bearing. Features a starburst response system and it seems to have been discontinued. Photos and a slideshow before my quick thoughts:

This is not a bad yoyo (if there’s something like that), but honestly, there are better choices if you’re looking for a cheap beginners model. Even taking in mind that a FAST 201 is much louder that this one, it’s a way better choice. It will spin longer, has a more adjustable system, and it’s also very cheap. I found more difficult to make tricks with Spinstar, it’s too big (diameter) for me, and the cotton string that comes with the yoyo makes it all worst. Yes, I can have some fun with this one, but there are so many other options available today that makes the Spinstar not even close to the top choices. I bought this one for something like $9 just for curiosity. I don’t regret, but if you’re new, choose something that allows you a better progression and more fun.

You’re completely right. My brother bought one, but in half an hour, he used 5 strings because the F.A.S.T. response is a string-hater. It sleeps for about 3 seconds, is very noisy, too big… The shape is not easy, for a part because it’s too big, but such a small butterfly form is not ideal for beginners.
