My entry
Hmmmm, maybe youāre seeing the futureā¦.
Boingy boing was a tough trick for me personally to learn, and I found a video that helped me learn it, but it still took a long time to get comfortable with it. I canāt find that video, so here is a short video with tips explaining the way my āaha momentā occured with it.
My recommendation to people who are struggling and not quite sure what theyāre missing, is to tilt the split bottom mount back so that the yoyo rests on the back string. That way you can boing it into the front string, then back, and then use gravity to let you reset/get it back to the back string. Getting to that front and back string smooth is the first step, but play with the speed that you pull up and down to find the cadence you need. Start slow to just get it to the front and back string, and speed up to see how it affects the strings and how far you hand needs to move up and down. Something that I didnāt explain well in the video is that by tilting the mount back, it forces you to pull the string up and down to move the yoyo, rather than rocking it. If you can forward and back once, try and get 2 string hits in a row, then 3, then 4, ect.
Because weāre building off boingy boing this month, hit @ben_jammin or myself up if you want some help. We want to make sure that people can participate.
Hereās a few boings! Keep at it yāall, lots of great tips above ^
My past week and a half are rabid, but I donāt want to miss a week already! All you get are these short boings.
Week #6: Over-Under Boingy Boing
Building on last week, this is the next logical step from boingy boing. The YYE video for this trick is linked above in week #5. Hereās another tutorial with some additional tips for how to get the feel for the over/under:
If you already posted over-under and want to stay ahead, next week will be Takashi Boing:

Not sure if the Takashi is 100% correct but i think the main idea is there and it seems to flow in my brain so Iām posting it. Let me know if itās not. Thank you for pushingthe boingy month!
This week was even busierā¦honestly, Iām not getting a better one than this. Audio encouraged.
TaW 2026 Week 6 - Over-Under Boingy Boing
I think its starting to click for me, still have a long way to go, but this is the most progress Iāve made on this trick in years!
Not my cleanest, and it took me a while to figure out. The first pop out feels like a pump fake in basketball, and then it reverses direction and swings to the other side to get back in. The second pop out just swing an around back and undos the wrap on the finger. Itās also harder to get the boings after the first pop out because the string is wrapped around your finger a full time instead of sliding back and forth in normal boingy boing.
