Trick-a-Week 2025- #50 Takeshi Slack Heart

I wanted one of these Asterisks and especially this colorway cause its Pittsburgh colors. Did that have anything to do with you picking that color?

Nah, I just dig yellow yoyos

If you blade your feet like throw hand foot a bit more forward, you can get into that pseudo front style position with th inverted more comfortably and that might help you keep everything lined up and not tilt. Good luck yo!

I feel that. I love yellow pom too.

I have to say this one is kicking my ■■■. I can get as far as the inverted cross hand mount right before the DGT, but can’t seem to figure out the last loop/pinch drop to land into the last mount. Any pointers?

You basically need to turn the mount upsidedown and get the one segment to pass from the nth side of the bearing to the th side. It is definitely annoying. Try not to over think it is my advice. Keep it loose so that it falls like if there is too much tension, it is harder to get the dgt.

What does the mount you land in look like

i’m struggling to get it consistently as well. but it seems to work best when i think about just tossing it up kind of like a braintwister but letting it fall and not trying to rotate it all the way if that makes sense. like give it enough inertia that it falls at the peak instead of swings all the way round. @GTDropKnot nailed it with the comment about not having too much tension

my issue now is the bottom GT is so damn small. i’ve probably got to pinch somewhere longer idk

i haven’t had the time to learn or record anything really but it was a super nice and slow morning and i was throwing so i decided to record these two taw inspired combos I’ve been messing with

Figured it out after a good sleep.

Throwing it around with more slack helped a lot, timing the release of the right hand pinch towards the top of the arc, and switching to a thinner overall string - the xl string I was using beforehand was putting too many layers between my response pads.

Here is my first TAW!
