I’ve been guilty of tossing a yoyo before, luckily I was in my backyard … I even remember the trick, it was TaW 2023 week 46… great trick but it almost did me in…

Yo just want to whine bc this trick has been rough ha! I figured it out-ish but the Hajime execution is so so hard to replicate and I keep funking up the slack too often bahhh 
I shouldn’t be critical bc Hajime is literally one of the best players ever but still…Just wanted to whine for a sec lol I’m not trying to be critical of the pick also like it is a good choice imo like manageable for sure but yeah doesn’t play to my strengths…pushing me out of my comfort zone…sigh ig that is what TaW is all about…

This trick is so much harder than it looks. For me that first slack/rejection is tough to get. I knew I wasn’t the only one struggling since you hadn’t posted yet either. So I guess I’m in good company.

I’ma have to agree, it’s tough, I believe I have the first part down but I can’t seem to get the cross arms thing to the bounce

Hmmm that part I can probably help you figure out if you want. What typically goes wrong? Like is the mount completely off or is it basically right but you are landing on the strings on th index also so too many strings or just execution is hard? Helped me to really know what I wanted to happen so dominant over non dominant when sending the yoyo up into the top strings and then uncross with dominant under non dominant while yoyo is above the hands like yoyo must be above the hands for the uncross to resolve right. Thinking abt it like that helped me.

Aight cool yeah and send an attempt vid if possible and we can help you get it sorted out for sure. Here’s a vid with a simpler entry to the mount before the arm crossing and unpolished execution but it might help with the understanding the elements part of the trick learning process.
If the opening slack part has anyone ready to tap out, y’all can use this entrance to figure out the rest of the trick. I’ll make a vid if anyone wants that also just let me know! No sweat happy to help

I actually like the idea of the whole trick since it reverses the wrap on the TH. I can definitely utilize that in the future for something I’m building as transitional element. It’s also a bonus it ends back in a trapeze ready for something else. I think I see what I was missing the other day when I was playing with it. He releases the slack so the yoyo travels vertically. I’ll try to play with that later today when I have some more time.

Make sure you got a tight pinch on nth with index and thumb when you go into the undermount, but yeah…the part is giving me trouble also. My problem isn’t snagging but that the string isn’t coming around and out of the gap consistently enough. Imma try more vertical like Vektor pointed out and maybe that will help me but yeah…lol this trick is sneaky good luck to you and everyone!

Added like a halting motion at the end of the slack thing and that fixed the issue i was having with the slack not coming around enough. Def needs polishing but idk if I like the trick enough to do all that so imma call it good enough and move on lol

Week 30 — Kira’s Slack Combo
Kira (altkm) has been breaking down some of the elements she did in her routine at nats, and I think there are a fair few fun elements in it. This one is a string of slack elements, a lot of which are present in part in past trick-a-weeks (some from this year, some previous years).
There’s a whip to houdini mount, tension hook, an element that’s really similar to the supercharger whip, and ninja vanish from a brother mount. For some folks on this thread I think these elements will be familiar, so add your own flourishes! If you haven’t done a few of these elements, they can take some practice to get consistent. You can also find lengthier tutorials on a lot of the elements, so if you’re looking for more info on something, don’t hesitate to ask.
