Trick-a-Week 2025- #14 Double Whip

Yo i messed up a tiny bit but recovered good and I don’t wanna record again so here we go lol Stg the hardest part of this trick is just remembering what the heck is going on and where you’re at instead of autopiloting to something else. Trick is good though for sure I love all the string dropping.

How do you post your vids? I tried on a different thread and apparently the site doesn’t like the format it was in. Maybe just because I own an iPhone?

Try using imgur or youtube. Those two options embed nicely.

Needs some polish, but I’ll see if I have more time to dedicate to it later this week. The candy trilogy.

tbh i am unsure if i am doing spirit bomb right or not. it’s too easy. i remember it being hard. i don’t think i’ve gotten that much better. i end up in the right spot but i think i’m not doing the second bit right

and magic drop.. ugh. i know what i’m doing this week.

For super charger, when I do the last slack part, even with neutral string tension, the string gets twisted and the yoyo never lands inside it (unless I land the gt part on only one string). Any suggestions?

it isnt hard conceptually. as long as you land back in the wrist mount but with an extra wrap around the bucket string thats wrapped around the th, you’re good

be easiest if you can post or dm a vid of an attempt or two. generally speaking the best tip for that is to think of it like you’re pulling a ripcord with your th, pulling it slightly toward you. make sure you give the yoyo an ever so slight hop right before pulling the ripcord and as you pull it, flip your nth from palm up(ish) to palm down. keep at it. tension hooks are though at first but you’ll start seeing the loop traveling as you pull on the string

Magic drop is the trick that I think most exemplifies how tiny movements can make a huge difference… and that oftentimes, the thing that makes it click is different for everyone (probably because some people intuitively do some of the small movements but not others).

Week 13 Rancid Milk

Happy Friday gang! It’s that time, the classic of classics…Rancid Milk!! This is a throwback to the early 2000’s and was created by Spencer Berry. Here is an amazing interview @DocPop did with Spencer late last year and they have a good discussion about Rancid Milk’s creation.

Now, on to the trick!

One of the more difficult parts of this trick for me was the dismount. Having just learned Superman recently i was trying to dismount similarly and that was not working. @GTDropKnot made and shared this video of the dismount specifically if anyone needs specific attention there also. The key takeaways are note how he uses his fingers to open the bucket, and also both hands pop up together to hop the yo out of the bucket. Don’t try to use momentum to “fling” it out.

Have fun and have a great weekend!
