Thoughts on First "Big" Yoyo Buy? EDITED - The Throw is In

Maybe I had one too many beers tonight, but I decided to stop waffling and just go for it… Ended up going with the Kuntosh 5KQV.

The others are on the shortlist for next time.

haha awesome man! Seriously…it’s hard to go wrong with the 3 you were deciding between!

The Kuntosh is really powerful and stable and will be a beast of a yo-yo to learn with!

Can’t wait for you to get it!! What color did you go with?

Thanks! Definitely looking forward to getting it. I do agree that any discussed would have been fine choices.

I went with the color that I picture in my head when I think of the Lamborghini Kuntosh. Will post in a few days

Final Four? What happened to Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen? This feels like the March madness we needed  Congrats to having a winner!

Ha! Did cross my mind as I wrote that yesterday. And thanks! It already shipped, so I’ll be anxiously checking the tracking until I gets here even though I know it won’t be until Friday-ish (yay, shipping from next state over).

I don’t think you’ll be disappointed with the Kuntosh; it’s a great throw. I like my Top Deck a bit more, prolly because I can do finger spins on it(edit:just tried and did finger spins on Kuntosh just fine). The Top Deck is just such a great all around throw and so incredibly stable. When I was at your level, I found it to be incredibly helpful when learning new tricks, so much so that I nicknamed it Wife. It’s great looking, solid, dependable and doesn’t let you down. That being said, the Kuntosh is a great throw, and side effects are practical yet fun. I’m surprised a monometal can have so much power! It’s a blast. Enjoy!

Yeah, it was between Top Deck, Sugar Glider, and the Kuntosh at the end. It ultimately came down to me going through each one in my cart and deciding which one I REALLY wanted to own and throw. Sugar Glider and Top Deck are the at the top of the short list for the next purchase, which will likely be sooner than I plan

I appreciate everyone putting these throws on my radar. The Kuntosh was my top candidate going in and I wasn’t aware of the high regard the Top Deck especially is held in. Now I do!

Another thing I like about the Kuntosh over the Sugar Glider and Top Deck…is that the Kuntosh uses side effects so that in the future you can change a bit of the way the yo plays, and how it looks!
I love side effects!

That will be something I’ll have to experiment with. Sounds interesting.

I put ultra-lites in all my One Drops, except for my Parlays in which I like to put spikes. Mostly this is to put as little weight around the axle as possible.

lol I use side effects for their looks :stuck_out_tongue:

Totally stupid questions: are side effects generally sold in pairs? Or individually?

The most ridiculous thing I’ve done with side effects is put brass code 1’s in my 1To1. It actually kind of like it that way.

Very nice! So they DO come in pairs.
