This may sound like a noob question, but what does “floaty” mean? It never really made sense to me. It may help to give examples. Thanks!
Floaty is a term that’s typically associated with light-feeling yoyos as well as heavy-feeling yoyos and is used to confuse people.
Although Magic Johnson is big and weighs a lot, he seems to just float in the air.
Two yoyos of the same weight and general size can feel different. One more like a rock on a string and the second one nimble and light. From my reading of discussions about this topic, the second one is more floaty than the first.
More mass concentrated toward the center of the yoyo causes it to feel more “floaty”. More rim-weight makes for a more solid feel at the end of the string.
Okay, thanks for the help!
‘Floaty’ really means many different things to all sorts of throwers. It confuses me too. There is no concrete definition.
