Why are you suggesting that option ‘to me’, David?
Just curious?

My bad, I wasn’t directing any option to you as an expert “Maurice…”, My intention here was to ask “YoyoDoc” in general a simple yoyo related question “Why Not” in regard to sanding and polishing clear polycarbonate yoyo.
Does YoYoDoc think dull-opaque appearance could be polished clear translucent again?
Personally, I’ve never sanded and polished any polycarb yoyo. I was just thinking that ploycarb is ploycarb.
Thanks for any reply~
I painted a clear FHZ like this a while back, I’ll see if I can snap some pictures after work. I had also originally satined it, though that finish has faded over time. What I did is I popped the caps, masked the parts I didn’t want painted with masking tape, and then used a paint brush to flick small amounts of paint on the inside in different colors. It resulted in a really cool look, cross between a splash and an acid wash as you’d see on an aluminum yoyo. It wasn’t difficult and doesn’t require any technical painting skill.
Yes, Sanded polycarbonate yoyos can be polished
.
Here are some of the yoyos i have painted. So far just paint pens on plastic and wood.
Yoyos are:
Caribou Lodge Plastic Peak
Recess First Base
TMBR Irving
I thought the answer to this question was in your PFP, lol
I recently searched up so much about painting a FHZ. I figured it out and bought some polishing compounds too. I painted about 12 yoyos for my son’s soccer team. It was a nice end of year celebration. It’s definitely possible to just take the logo off the caps and paint the inside. It was fun to paint backwards. It creative post like these that helped my search out.
