That’s the idea! Hope to see you there!

Lynbrook Yo-Yo Club third session was asmaller group then last month … but it was absolutely spectacular… too much?.. well i had a freaking blast!
Let’s get the kids out of the way, 4 3rd grades (my daughter among them) all throwing gravity throw and starred throwing forward passes…i tried teaching around the world but that was a mistake! The younger kids are starting to get the hang of it as well. One new kid showed up and i taught his mom how to adjust string etc. 3rd meeting in there where also other kids and parents that where able to help with strings etc … this tells me they are paying attention and they are likely throwing yoyos at home! Even my wife was throwing again… everyone loves to throw a yoyo, some people just forget that they do!
Finally my goals started to come to fruition after 3 meets! There was a kid that came with a Duncan Echo. He thought he knew some basics… i am so greatfull that @blacklabel9567 came out with his family as well. He brought his case, and we where able to throw a bit, but he was so kind and helpful that this kid with the echo learned a few things he was doing wrong. And a couple of new elements to work on He’s deff coming back and apparently his older brother has throwing skills as well.
@blacklabel9567 showed me some elements from Mario & Luigi that will be my project for the next few days. Thank you for coming out and making this club that much cooler.
Here are some pics from today…

June/ July will probably be outside but working on details.

Just a reminder and a thank you to @blacklabel9567 for showing up and inspiring me to check out Mario & Luigi. I have had the pleasure of meeting throwers in person in my life and is always inspirational and educational.

4th meet and we are rocking! Kids are coming along, honestly not much improvement from last month, but we got a nice core group.
Great to see @blacklabel9567 again, once again he showed me a diffrent way of throwing that i thought i understood…
And 2 new Kids showed up… this time a12 year old with some legit 1A skills, he brought a case of yoyo factory which was cool to see.
At the end of the club i asked everyone if they wanted to watch us throw some cool tricks… no pressure…i started and it off and got stuck in a trap brother trap combo trap that I’m not impressed with, …Jahn followed up with an awesome wrist mount into a mover knot… neither of us impressed any of the kids… but this 12 year old grqbbed my PV44 and began to shed an awesome combo followed up with a sweet DNA fingerspin bind! Very impressed!
My wife was in charge of video today, so i have exactly 2 seconds of me throwing a front style bind…
YoYo Club is fantastic!
Here are a few pics of everyone’s case.

I just read through this thread and what a cool and inspiring story. Im not aware of any local yoyo scene where I am but this inspires me to start something like a club. Way to go!

Thank you so much @blacklabel9567 . It’s a pleasure to hang out. I do wish i had more time to throw with you and i feel that in the next few meets i will have more time.

This week i tried to bring in a Teaching assistant by bringing in a tablet with some Tutorials from the YoTricks app, this way introduced the parents and kids to the app so they can explore at home, and i didn’t have to keep going over the very basics. This worked really well because there was 2 new girls show up, i had thier mom watch the videos with them, the 8 year old was throwing a solid throw and forming a cradel by the end of the hour. This was awesome.
Most importantly to me MY DAUGHTER had a very solid throw, gravity and forward pass and that made daddy very happy  .
The club has 2 crews forming with 1 beginners and the second some intermediate skilled kids showing up regularly.

I’m very excited for next month.

This was a very busy couple of weeks and i didn’t get a chance to prwp as i sus the last couple. Turns out the whole group was busy and only 3 kids showed up. But we where working on trapeze, binds, Braintwister and boingy boingy. These kids thought i was awesome.
I really tried to get these kids to practice throwing responsive, cause i thug that might help thier control. Basically 1 outof 5 throws was able to attempt trapeze so it was really slow. The only thing they want to learn is DNA! One kid has a nine dragon so he uses a pull start but can’t whip the string in.
I learned DNA just for these kids last month and I’m almost consistent.
Clubwas entertaining and exhausting today.
Hooe everyone is well.

Next club date is Tuesday July 16 @430. Hope to see some of you there.

Had a blast at club today.
Half dozen new kids showed up interested in checking out the yoyo club. We had 2 8th grade girls show up 45 min in, one girl had a phenomenal throw. Another half dozen regulars shows up, one 8 year old was showing off her forward pass to her 8th grade sister. Maybe 15 kids and a bunch of parents. I always try to get parents involved cause they used throw at one point in thier lives. Now then one parent is practicing thier throw occasionally at home.
Today a Grandmother came in with her family Gigi… and she kept giving her kids pointers so i finally gave her a No Jive to throw and she asked me "Do people still throw wooden yoyos?..i replied “only on Fridays mostly” but smiled, she thought it was funny.
So much fun!
Thank you @blacklabel9567 for making the drive one again! You rock! Dude has some crazy good 1A skills and he is very modest about them. So happy to have met.
Next month will be Tuesday August 20th @ 430pn in the Lynbrook Library.

@AKYOYOMIKE, you’re too kind! My yoyo skills are pretty average, but I really enjoy hanging out with other yoyo enthusiasts.

A lot of the kids started getting the hang of sleeping and catching the yoyo this week, even some of the newcomers. My 5-year-old made significant progress and can now do more consistent sleepers and has better control over the yoyo while throwing. Up until yesterday, she would just do that thing little kids do with a yoyo—either flailing their arms around or walking while the yoyo rolls behind them.

Also thanks for the strings! I’ve been playing with the Skyline III nylon pink string all day. It whips so well and is super consistent. I managed to do 25 iron whips in a row with ease.
