I’m very new getting back into yo-yo so I’m there with you. The biggest thing that helped me for the plastic whip and the beef hook was finally understanding how much string tension has an impact on these tricks. Now every time I have to rewind and every time I see it twist instead of holding a loop I reset it to neutral. Good string is also a plus. Check out Cake’s string reviews if you haven’t yet.

FINALLY landed Kwijibo this afternoon. Have not been able to repeat it.
I’m still trying, and slowly getting the pieces down.

Kwijibo is like a drug. It only feels good as long as you’re doing it. When you’re not, you’re itching for another try

Gonna make a new comment in reply to my comment in an attempt to correct myself.
I was alerted by a friend that it is not, in fact, Kwijibo, that I have hatred for, but, in fact, “Boingy Boing”… Other than replacing “Kwijibo” → “Boingy Boing” my original statement stands.
However, it seems a decent portion of you share the same feelings about Kwijibo, so I’ll let my original statement stands, as is, and let this new reply serve as my true feelings

I have a love/hate with Boingy Boing. I feel like some days I can nail it on any of my throws consistently, no problem, feel like I’ve got it down pat. Then, BAM, it’s Tuesday, good luck getting one bounce, lol.

one of my favorite core tricks. special move: learn kamikaze mount, and then do kwyjibo from there. one of my favorite repeater combos is the matrix to kwijibo. in my head I call it smith vs neo cuz one ends where the other begins.
