Who named a trick soiled panties?
lol I was curious too and googled it and found this on a tutorial for it from 11 years ago — “About the name, it does seem a bit weird at first. I don’t how Yuuki calls this trick, but the community named it “soiled panties”. The name was picked, because you might literally soil your pants, if you see Yuuki doing this trick on stage. As far as I know, the name was picked by Henry on the YYN board back in 2007 or so.”

I decided to learn Brent stole finally tonight after putting it off awhile. I learned hook a couple months back now. I literally was on like no more than my 10th attempt and I got it I swear this always happens to me but then it goes back to the normal process of learning a trick after that first lucky attempt.
Just got it again maybe this wasn’t gonna be as painful as I expected
edit: Now the beginners luck is over haha and my arm is jello haha I think coming right off the tutorials I get it then lose it or something who knows
Final edit. I got it! Not consistent but I got a grasp on what I’m doing. I’m sweating and sore but don’t want to stop so I can hammer it in for sure. Ha sorry for the strange post here.

In last 2 months landed the marix but need to perfect it buddas revenge i can do every time and landed cold fusion about 4 times now need to work on it more
Haha I woke up with my arms feeling a little sore today. I need to get in shape. I hope it’s from the yard work I did yesterday and not the yoyoing but I’m not sure. Hah
Been working for over a month on the cross arm GT dismount into a tension rejection GT. Over and over watching that loop come around but always missing it and landing on both strings. Finally just caught the loop and landed the GT twice in a row. I’m Literally jumping up and down
So I am getting fairly comfortable with Brent stole. One issue I’m having is getting tiny triangles. So weird cause them first two flukey times they were actually decent. I did a search on here and people said put your hands closer together but I did that and it didn’t seem to help much. Any other ideas?
It gets easier to make it bigger when you get more comfortable landing the trick and whipping the string. Not sure what tips to give here but that happened to me at first and I’m not exactly sure how I started to get it bigger but it just happened one day. This is a terrible answer! I’ll think about it more and see if I have any ideas!
Thanks man yeah I’m hoping as I do it more it will work itself out. I get backwards triangles here and there too but not as much. I think that may be from not hooking my finger? It seems to only do it when I don’t pinch/hook my finger by accident. My right arm is definitely sore from swinging it so much That’s kinda why I been putting off learning this trick. I can’t imagine these kids doing 5.0 hooks, I feel like learning that would be a full blown workout haha. Brent stole is a lot more fun of a trick to me than hook, I can’t stop doing it. It’s probably been 90% of all my yoyoing I’ve done since the other night when I started.
The backwards triangles happen if string torsion isn’t neutral like it will twist in mid air I think. I am not certain but this happens to me sometimes also and when I check the torsion after, it’s always off and then I fix it and can hit them normal again. High hooks are absolutely mind blowing like you just have to move so ridiculously fast right away and need everything to go perfectly. 5.0 is insane to me. I want to see how high I can go because I just want to hah but there is no way I’m ever going to make it to 5.0 lol regular h hooks are satisfying and I like the unroll I do those and bstole s a lot because they’re so quick. You’re getting those whip muscles now hah it does definitely get easier too like you won’t always be sore lol nice work though I always kind of like being sore because it means I tried really hard and that’s good
Honestly you really shouldn’t be sore after practicing the Stole. Don’t need to whip hard. Becomes natural to not muscle or so much once you get the timing. Bigger triangles come from letting the whip travel further before intercepting for the triangle. Try popping yoyo up slightly higher, whipping, and pause a sec to let it travel further before you catch it. Should help
Thanks ill try that. I actually have been intercepting the whip really early so I hope that helps. I get sore all the time from doing them type of whip tricks consecutively. It’s like a weak arm feeling more so than a soreness. I don’t really whip fast I just keep doing it over and over and over for hours sometimes and I can feel fatigue start to set in. If I had to guess since I started this whole thing I definitely did over 1000 whips. Which is kind of dumb because when I’m fresh I notice much better consistently obviously. After a couple hours long session from that the next day my arm feels weak. I also am in the worst shape I ever been in my life probably overweight by like 20lbs or so.
Also, yesterday I finally started getting the first part of black hops down. I don’t remember exactly what the second part is besides knowing it’s backwards and the hardest part. I have been attempting this trick for a few months here and there when messing around with no luck. What helped me was I seen a video of Dazzling Dave where he does a double or nothing and hops them like black hops. I never even thought to try that. The third hop is the most tricky one for me. Gonna watch a tutorial today and see how the second part goes.
I really been enjoying yoyoing alot lately.
Black hops is one of my favorite tricks and I really think it helped my game to grind this one early in my yoyo journey. A longer string definitely helps for the final hop bc it is pretty hard and basically impossible w a short string. you can work on the hops and undercuts by just going to DoN and back like the trick cascade. Here is a tutorial for that so you can see but this player is a lefty so keep that in mind. (Notice in the slowmo how they pull the yoyo to the string—this isn’t mentioned in the yytricks tut I don’t think but it makes it much easier like tell the yoyo who’s boss and pull it where you want it)
Good luck don’t let the tutorial saying the second half is hard psych you out. I think the front and back half of the trick are both equally hard for different reasons but it’s worth it and this is one of the most satisfying tricks to hit perfect. You can get it!
Thanks man. It doesn’t look impossible definitely tough. Im going to work on it today. I been using a slightly longer string lately. I’m only 5’7 and I always think since I’m so short people that are taller are all using much longer strings. For the longest I kept it real short to just about at my stomach but I’ve moved up to about my chest now. I been trying to figure out what I like more. I definitely feel uncomfortable with anything past my chest even by a little.
Chest high should be plenty long like do whatever is comfortable but string length shouldn’t really matter to height in relation to this trick like a triple or nothing takes up the same amount of space for a person 5ft or 7ft or close to it atleast like the big boy prolly has bigger hands but still I think the point stands you just don’t want to triple or nothing to feel really really tight but if it feels ok then you’re good good luck
