You guys seriously mystify me…
How the balls do you figure out these tricks from just watching the performance vid…
Like, rly

coldfusion on a No-Jive, but the triple kickfilp was the best.

BTW, 200th post?

So the twirly slack thing? This is gonna take a while haha

I think I made this up on my own
I dont think anyone else has done this before (in a vid anyway, someone probably knows how to do this without recording it) but Instant Iwasawa Tower from a throw.
Do an instant double or nothing except the TH string goes over the wrist. Land yoyo in middle string. drop string from TH hand. Boom.

YouTube’s slomo feature on some vids really help us understand what happens in a laceration trick, or any trick for that matter. If the slomo isnt there, some of us download the vid while others like me can figure it out (after trying the trick over and over again) when its still at full speed, its hard to explain.
Also, I’m of full Filipino descent. I’m Asian, thats how JK

Im 100% Japanese tho…

Just got my double green triangle down! Oh and also learned how to do pinwheels!

Today I finally got magic drops. Since the middle of december they have been annoying me. I have them down consistent now, was a real annoying one for me!

Total noob post, but I’m finally getting the trapeze 7/10 times consistently after about 1.5 weeks and about 5 different tutorial videos with their own respective techniques. It figures that the yoyoexpert tutorial was the one that actually helped the most.

Still have work to do in order to land it every time, but I finally feel comfortable adding a new trick into my practice (brain twister)

Awesome! I remember when I first started, I would do trapeze (with flyaway dismount since it was a responsive yoyo) over and over. And over. And over. That was enough to keep me happy for an hour or two at night.

Hah, It took me a couple of weeks to even get a proper breakaway. As for trapeze, if you still need help, when the yoyo is flipping over your NTH finger, try to keep it as close as possible to your finger. It helps to slid your NTH finger along the string too instead of just intercepting it and flipping the yoyo over, I suck at explaining things so hopefully you understand. Good Luck!

The above advice is good, but it can be taken to an extreme. If you’re trying too hard to get TOOooo close, you’re going to have problems, too.

I would modify it to say, “Do it pretty close to your NTH forefinger”. (with enough ‘wiggle room’ that you don’t have to feel any stressful pressure to go over your finger without hitting it)

The more important thing IMO is that as the string is pivoting around the forefinger, pull your hands apart. This forces the segment that’s going around your forefinger to accelerate and will also make it go towards the segment it will land on. Without this “pull”, you need to have the trapeze perfectly aimed. Which is hard. With the “pull” you have a hard time missing.

720 Lasso without looking.  ;D

Thanks for all the tips! I’m using a Duncan Metal Drifter to learn on, so it’s pretty middle of the road in responsiveness, it doesn’t just shoot back with a flinch, so I find actually keeping it mounted without the yoyo flying off pretty easy. My actual trouble is my aim, I just need to work on actually hitting the string with the yoyo, which is getting easier as muscle memory and learning kicks in.

I actually got my breakaway as the first trick I ever learned :stuck_out_tongue: I just threw the yoyo to see if I could in Target one day, and by the end of the day, I was getting it 100% and started working on the list of beginner tricks.

After hours of learning how to use my arms I finally landed spirt bomb.

I forgot that I had to catch the strings with my non throw hand

I should have had a V8

lol I love your expression.

Any vids on how to do a lasso? I’ve always wanted to learn but there aren’t many tuts.

Finally got a consistent eli hops down after 1 straight hour of practice! And i’ve got the string burn to prove it:city_sunset::factory::japanese_castle::tent:️:love_hotel::department_store::love_hotel::love_hotel::tokyo_tower:

Hehe. Thanks, fellas! It was actually the first time I have landed the 720 lasso. I woke up that day feeling like I could land anything I wanted so I choose one that made me feel like I was trying to catch a slippery eel.

I learned the lasso from Nathan Martsolf’s video.

Malcolm Chiu has some good lasso vids that should be beneficial.
