37 were manufactured, 7 were for Mk1/Spinworthy/Bryan. All 37 were engraved on both halves. 30 were available to the public.

I believe in iOS 16 the photos app can scan the QR code within a picture.

Thinking back actually, as I took the picture, a little bubble popped up over the QR that said “why did you open it?” 
I then clicked it which took me to the Google search. I was wondering if it was a secret link… 🕵🏻♂ It wasn’t, but it was hella funny!

I just want to commend and thank @Glenacius_K, @MarkD, and @BryanF for putting so much thought and effort into this and then having the patience to sit on it for so long. This is some of the most fun that I’ve had on the forum!!!
It felt great to add “solved mystery” to my highlights for the week. 🕵🏻♂️
Ps: I’d been updating my wife about the progress of the mystery, I thought she might think it was silly, but she was also stoked about it! She was thrilled when I showed her the inside of the yo-yo last night! It was such a cool thing that it transcended yo-yo nerdom .

Hahaha this is great! I inspected it pretty thoroughly when we got them in and found nothing. I looked under the pads and measured every possible dimension with calipers… I was thinking MAYBE an engraving under the cap, but didn’t think it would be so cool or detailed. Well done guys!

My father used to say “If your not bleeding, you didnt do it right.” Maybe that is where the name “Red Blood Cell” truly came from? Or an inspiration from other yoyo attempts?

Finally got a RBC, this is a really great yoyo! Replicates a fixed axle really well. I think it needs to break in, or I need to use slightly slimmer string. On a breakaway it comes back super quick. But I really like it. I’ve said it before but I’m so glad someone tried a new bearing, I’d been talking to several people about doing that for years.
