The original Tachyon earned its reputation through a low center weight design, a V and H hybrid profile for added stability, and an ultra light overall build. Tachyon II preserves that core identity while updating the specifications for today’s play.
Weight was carefully targeted at around 62 grams to keep the play fast. The proven low center hub design remains unchanged, maintaining a light and highly responsive feel through the middle. Width has been increased to 48mm, improving competition performance while preserving the quick, agile character that defines the series.
To enhance stability during sustained high speed play, diameter and rim weight were slightly increased. The result is a more controlled, confident experience in both vertical and horizontal speed combinations. The gap has also been widened to 4.52mm to accommodate thicker string and deliver a clean, reliable bind.
Extensively tested by the yoyofriends team, Tachyon II proved to be more powerful and stable than its predecessor while retaining its signature quickness. While absolute peak acceleration was tuned slightly for balance, overall stability and high speed confidence improved significantly.
