Just wanted to offer up a service to fix stripped yo-yos to anyone who has one they need saved. I have like 45 inserts left with this kit that I got and my results were fantastic, so I wanted to share.
All I ask is that you cover shipping, otherwise you can pay what you want, if you want.
Turn around time will vary, as I travel most weeks for work, but I am home on weekends so nothing crazy.
Was gonna make a LF/WTB post for stripped yo-yos as well, but it would be more rewarding to just fix them and send them back.
Yep! They seem to be a pretty durable repair as I have been 5a-ing my Unbound ever since, and have taken it apart many times swapping bearings and admiring my handy work lol. It’s had some pretty gnarly bonks, and I’ve also tried to see how tight I could make it and the answer is “you will have to actively try to strip it again” tight
These were for @tonyevo52 , turned them around within the weekend (repaired the same day I got them, shipped out the following day or two)
With his, all the yo’s had one bad half, I left the good half alone to reduce chance of vibe. If you specifically want both halves done let me know, but it increases the risk of inducing a little bit of vibe.
I have a new installation tool on order, as the one I had broke installing the last insert, had to come up with a solution to finish it but it came out great.
I have been beating the heck out of my Boundless and still remains perfectly smooth and no issues with inserts backing out or anything weird. Plays perfectly.
