What do you guys think of a thicker string that maintains tension well, last 3-4 hours of play, gets super soft after broken in and whips moderately fast ?
Sounds a lot like a Toxic Metz Thick. 
Not my favourite string, but it’s pretty fun sometimes.
Been unsuccessfully playing with my Butterfly on and off for a few day’s. On break I thought to myself “You don’t suck this bad try a different string.” So I bust out the emergency plain cotton from the wallet. I guess i’ve been yoyoing enough now to be able to say that the cotton string i’ve been making sucks! My string making ability is solid but the material is just all wrong. I just didn’t know at the time because I was a noob yoyoer and hadn’t played enough to know what was what …
on the bright side… I was able to pull off a couple trapeze with a nice dismount and return back to my hand. Something i’ve struggled to do with the string i made
conclusion … ditch the mercerized crochet thread and find a spool of unmercerized cotton thread and make proper string.
Mercanized Cotton is…weird.

I’ve used Coats & Clarks Dual Duty Plus ‘Denim’ (looks like denim too) in some poly mixes that seemed OK. Nothing I was overly impressed by to write down other than it was soft.
It’s 68% poly and 32% mercerized cotton. My notes say I’ve made some strings 100% of it but I haven’t gotten around to playing them yet.
We need to bring this thread back to life!
Any word on when the bundle will be ready? Even though I can’t (sadly) participate in it, I would love to buy one to try all of your guys’ strings!
