Why is it I can do split the atom on my 201 with a narrow gap but can rarely do brain twister on my DM2? I can throw hard and straight but it just runs out of steam mid-trick. I should be able to do all intermediate tricks with that thing(oh yeah, slim bearing).

Try the wide bearing if you have it, just learn to bind. Aslo, the bearing in the DM2 might be dirty. I’ve heard a ton of controversial stuff with what you should use to clean it with, but I used paint thinner.

No, it’s not a failure, it’s just unlucky. I’ve had problems with nearly every bearing I’ve had. Just keep going, and don’t feel bad about yourself.
I had the same problem with my DM2 and it was a dirty bearing. Had to clean it a few times.

Hardware store. You can also use acetone or lighter fluid.

No, I just know some guys who work at one. Mineral spirits are cheap enough anyway.
