I didn’t see any seams so I assumed it was like epoxy sealed concrete :woman_shrugging::joy:

Hmm, :thinking: you may be right…

Alrighty… You win this round, but I’ll be back!

Either way, the v2 would not have survived that!

Yeah, that’s not super uncommon for lab setups. Makes cleaning much easier. Our electronics lab at work is the same way.

Yeah v2 shattered on carpet :joy:

Same! I couldn’t have found a better shop to work with. They are sending my kids a Christmas present even. Have been a joy to work with

Still dying to get my greasy mits on one of those PW protos :eyes:

(okay, greasy was just conjecture. I hate having greasy hands)

I made 3 protos and shipped them all out. It turned out the aggressive blast on them was cutting strings. @Son-of-Morris and @Captrogers did extensive testing and burned through dozens of strings in order to identify the issue, as well as hand polishing to fix the string breaking so I let them keep the protos. That leaves one somewhat rough proto which is being returned to me soon so I can do some more testing and polishing on it. All in all it looks like I need to remake the protos with a polished finish and confirm they are good to go, I think you could probably get your mits on one of those but I am waiting on some health related stuff and Dr appointments before I make the decision to sink more money into a second round of protos.

Hey at least you discovered the issue, that’s half the battle with designing. I think a polished finish wouldn’t be as good in terms of look & hand feel, but I can’t imagine polishing only the catch zone would be very practical either. In the meantime, good luck with your medical journey, it’s not fun having to go to the doctor all the time ^^;

I’ve been given the green light to spill the tea on our latest testing, and the world needs to know.

First up, the RIP. This thing is so itsy bitsy teeny weenie that you’ll look at it and ask, “what is this, a yoyo for ants!?” -cue Zoolander memes- But it’s a blast for sure. It’s bouncy, surprisingly long-spinning for a fixie AND its size, and perfect for those “how did they do that?” picture trick challenges, and just casually bouncing around. It’s basically a novelty that actually works.

Then there’s the Pocket Watch. I’m convinced @AudreySickburn made some kind of dark pact with the Yo-Yo Lords for this one, because the way it magnetically snaps back to the string is straight-up witchcraft. It’s basically like two half-dollars with an MR-85 sandwiched in between thick, yet I couldn’t stop this thing from landing back on the string, I hit x17 stalls in a row at one point! When I could sometimes struggle to hit 5 in a row on a Butterfly, lmao. It performs wayyyyy above its weight class. One of those designs that comes around every once and a while where you play with it and you’re like “there’s nothing like this on the market” and I love it!

I think you all would love either of these to be honest, but the Pocket Watch certainly steals the spotlight for me personally, and well deserving of a go-anywhere throw for fixie or MR lovers.

I’m so late to this thread, but awhile back someone had a 3in1 with one of your Ultem axles on the bst. So, I guess what I’m asking is do you have anymore of them in exchange for some of them crispy imaginary paypal mullahs?
