This is very interesting. I’ve always thought of my fixie RBC as the ultimate EDC but I’m curious about this. I do love rounded rims so I appreciate that design element. :kissing_face_with_closed_eyes::pinched_fingers: I too like a worry stone yo-yo (hence the RBC).

I could definitely be in if it happens. I’m also fine with doing my own surface cleaning and finishing. :blush: I too have concerns about a 2.8mm gap - I’m worried if that causes kickback? For an 8mm axle and these specs, I’d recommend a 2.3-2.4mm gap. :thinking:

I haven’t noticed any kickback, but also why I’m doing a PIF before any other steps. Figure I can do a second proto run if I get some strong feedback with minor refinement like gap.

Seems possible to print with SLA in one piece but I don’t think density would be the same. Maybe similar enough… Makes me think about giving printing some throws a chance but I think the resin I have right now is too brittle.

Yeah I would say so, so far my favorite strings in them have been throw-yo vapor thick and zipline skyline.

Out of curiosity I tried some RCS Oh Canada after you asked and that is too thin and doesn’t play well in it.

Yeah I would be concerned about brittleness and also temperature resistance with the plastic axle. You would need some specialty resin probably

Standard resin is so brittle it would shatter on first impact with the ground worse than a glass yoyo. I’m not familiar if there are stronger resin out there

Yes these look great, I want one and would love to be on PIFs!
