Yep Toronto!! When in person meets and contests are back I’ll bring them ![]()
Yeah I’ve gotten some requests about the Pokeball one… I still need to find a way to produce it consistently ![]()
Made an unresponsove out of white polyester today.
It’s different to POM in that it is opaque instead of slightly tanslucent.
wow that looks nice
i can take it off your hands if you like
lol ![]()
Well I can sell it to you, but it’s less than perfect. The halves are not entirely identical in the cup, some areas are pretty thin and it vibes a lot. Other then thise things it perforrms great.
its ok man i was just kidding around
i always seem to be attracted to unresponsive plastics for some reason ![]()
Probably a boring post so ignore if you want.
Been re-thinking and refining my practices in making plastic unresponsives. I’ve been making and grinding my own custom turning tools and modifying my chuck jaws to hold halves without marring them.
“Boring post”
LOL, machinist jokes never get old
Are you suggesting I’m a machinist? I take that as a huge compliment if you are.
I’m much more of a backyard weekend hack who attemps to turn things on a wood lathe that he probably shouldn’t.
You sound like a machinist to me!
Us in the industry should never look down upon hobbyists. The hobbyists most of the time are helping keep the passion alive.
I plan to invest in my own machine for hobby work in the future. All of my shops machines are large vertical mills used to make molds and aerospace components, i would LOVE to turn some yoyos for fun, keep at it!!!
Mate, you should! You would have some great skill to make excellent yoyos!
Appreciate the kind words, keep that spindle turning my friend!
Printed hollow mini prototype. Brass insert heated and pressed worked great for threads and bearing post. Takes OD slim pads. Gonna print a full size version tomorrow.
Mate, I’m loving your prints!
Thanks Glen! I would love to make these as a fixed axle option too, where the wooden axle is hollow and has the same inside and outside diameter as a c bearing, but don’t have the capability to make such a thing at this point.
Have you ever tried a fixed wooden axle that is as big as a c bearing?
I haven’t, but I can do it.
I know in theory that it would not make for good fixed play.
Yeah I thought it would play really slow and have poor spin times. Best to be content with a half spec bearing I suppose.
May try a 3/16 aluminum fixed version of these in the future.
Fresh print in what I’m calling the “Magnifier” series. Matte white and matte chocolate brown feels/looks classy somehow. 38x58 60.4 g. Really happy with how these are turning out.

Is that bearing post permanent? If so how do you tune it?
