DM’d!

i hope you get better

I thought Canada had universal healthcare. This must be elective?

Private healthcare providers still exist in countries with public healthcare. The public healthcare system doesn’t necessarily offer all of the same surgical treatments, may have years-long waiting lists (especially if it’s something like a transplant for an organ that’s in short supply), and may have a lower standard of care or a bad reputation. Someone opting to get a surgical operation done through the private system doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s elective.

Forgive me. I work in American healthcare so I let my curiosity get the best of me. I hope you are better soon.
