Everyone ready for a funny story? It didn’t start out funny.
There I was, walking to go pick my youngest up from school, throwing my brand new Demon’s Fun. Then, disaster. The string broke, and my shiny new titanium throw rolled and rolled and rolled…right down a storm drain.
I could see it, but the grate was just REALLY stuck on there.
I called Public Works, and they’re coming to open the storm drain and retrieve said yo-yo. The only reason they’re willing to was because the guy used to work with titanium, and it curious to see a PVD-coated titanium yo-yo, because he’d done anodizing, powder coating, ceracoting, but had never done or seen PVD.
Dude was nerding out about titanium over the phone with me.
I should thankfully have it back tomorrow morning.
I’ve loved working with them so much! So much so that when they offered me a chance to be in essentially a commercial for them I said yes. Basically I’ll record video talking about my experience working with them, and they will intercut that with film of them machining and making some yo-yos.
Like even if it doesn’t do anything to help my own brand it’s going to expose more people to the world of yo-yos.
If anything it’ll show non yoyo businesses that there’s some profit to be found in yoyo again and that’ll be a good thing for brining more money into the hobby.
