Sometimes if you search for something that you know is recent, but the top results are from ten years ago. Not sure if this is a setting, but if the search phrase is a direct match, then sort the results by date desc. If it’s a partial match, then fall back to “relevance”.

Just sort by latest after getting results.

Yeah, but wouldn’t everyone benefit from the newest posts being at the top by default?

I don’t think everyone’s search is always for the latest result but that is likely. Nevertheless, they have access to the sorting feature too.

Agreed, that’s what I do (and probably everyone else). Just suggesting an improvement.

It’s often the case you want the newest posts first, but not always. It depends on the search…
So the “add an l” trick is a good one and I use it often.
