Idk I want to believe it’s just incompetence or external issues that are hard to keep track of and nothing malicious because I want to really like p44 but I keep seeing suspicious threads about activity that’s got me worried. I’ll keep a positive note and hope things will get worked out but there are a bunch of similar stories now leading to a track record and that’s not helping my optimism.

my thinking is the new ventures they were taking did not pan out as they wanted. either due to budget or management/manpower. likely both.
p44 was passion project and they always delivered afaik, even when its really late. early last year they did have bouts of downtime due to snail mail issues or shortage of staff for orders. but they quickly solve them. and the customer support quickly responds. and is/was active here and else.
the lack of contact tells me a really business breaking thing happened .
things did get a little annoying with the yoyo project taking too long to deliver for some reason. but i kinda expected that to an extent. they also had LOTS of yoyo projects teased by mistake on the site. and they didnt fix it in timely matter so things were likely not balanced for a while is my assumption.
i dont believe a business which delivered for a long time would just turn malicious. we had a lot of great yoyo boutiques go under, rare for string boutique to do so but thats likely the case here. zero updates is the issue here. hopefully everyone gets what they paid for / resolve their issue if thats the case.

I have no complaints about their actual Product (Strings).
I love their strings and being able to order the texture and thickness I want. It has been consistent.
For me it has always been the shipping. My first package came in a manilla envelope with 28 foreign stamps on it. I find it very crude by “Modern” standards, and it took almost 3 months to arrive.
Their shipping cost initially I felt was high.
They moved locations physically. Product stayed the same. Shipping price dropped, but… Shipping times did not improve.
I really think one of their issues is Geographic and their support/lack there of, of Postal service.
As far as recent events, I hope nothing bad happened to one of the individuals. They were usually very good at communicating.

The fact that both of their websites and instagram are not functioning says they are probably defunct.

I agree with u 100% regarding their products. That’s why I said I actually believe they were on their way to acheiving their mission statement of bringing a new standard for Yoyo string. Giving the customer the ability to choose and customize their Yoyo string on an individual item basis was underrated and way ahead of it’s time. Nobody else has ever offered that at a commercial level like that with so many options, and they had the product and quality to go with it, it wasn’t just some marketing gimmick. And they even had a bulk option for full nylon strings, like good nylon. I regret not ever ordering a pack of those. Hopefully I’ll still get the chance. I too also suspect this has a lot to do with their location and lack of support with the postal service they used for their business it’s a bummer that they didn’t have better options available to them. And a real bummer if that is the major factor in all this. I am hoping to see them back in action and better than ever. So fingers crossed for them.

apparently p44 has reopened today, would love to hear from @p44company about some of the orders that have never got updates here before considering purchasing more

If anyone has any standart weight string of any of the P44 blends, I’ve got a 100 pack of medium, which they refer to as “Medium(Fat),” that I’d like to trade some of for some standard weight.

Curious where you saw that info? It seems like all their social accounts have been deleted and their web stores are still down. Great strings, but I would hesitate to buy again based on all this info.

I don’t like the new shop it’s harder to navigate. I don’t trust buying from them till I hear back or understand why things paused and commitments where never fulfilled.

An update on my order:
I had made an order at the beginning of the year for some packs of string, during this time I expected the usual delays of ~3 months due to the location and general postal network, etc.
Throughout this process, I had communication until they went ghost around the middle of march.
After several months of going ghost on their website, a lack of communication while they were actively posting on social channels and continued lack of responses, I issued a charge back as all of these things pointed to a dead company which I could not get answers out of.
Fast forward to today I receive contact with the following explanation for delays:
“Regarding for your package we confirmed from the central post service that our shipment from February has been sent back to origin country due to failed delivery attempts.
After we learned this we send a new package as a replacement and currently in-transit bound to your address.”
I personally am highly suspect of this possible failed delivery as I was never notified by any delivery company about failed attempts nor by P44 about reshipment.
Shouldn’t the process to redeliver a package involve notifying the individual about their failed delivery and checking any address information for confirmation prior to reattempt?
I am willing to chock this up to gross miscommunication/mismanagement or major delays but I am very suspect of the whole process, which sucks, because the strings are genuinely some of the best I have ever had the joy to own.
A follow up update:
I am going to double down on gross miscommunication/mismanagement as the updated tracking for the resent package does indicate that they shipped a package a month ago, today it touched down in the US customs system. Annoying situation overall but they seem to be delivering overall.

saw there insta being active lately and their website is back taking orders for strings and new lubes. @p44company back ?
I placed an order in January, it reached US customs at the end of February and has been stuck there ever since somehow.
