Post your Panoramas!

I think that it’s time for an update to my post from ~5 months ago and the upshot is that I’ve grown to love the panorama and have developed a much better connection to it.

It’s hard to describe, but the phrase “elegance in simplicity” seems to apply pretty well in this situation. The panorama doesn’t seem to have any ridiculous, stand-out features, but it captures the essence of a good slimline throw for me. That’s probably why it never knocked my socks off initially, and the extra time spent with it (and some other throws on the narrow side) has paid off in that it doesn’t feel limiting to me at all. I can probably do everything that I know how to do on this yoyo, and while I still prefer wider throws, the panorama and its brother the diorama have been in regular rotation for me. Looking back, I’m a bit freaked out that I was discussing selling it due to a lack of enthusiasm. Not only am I relieved that I didn’t let go of it, but I ended up getting a couple more:

At any rate, I wanted to let you guys know that your love for the panorama has rubbed off on me; I just needed to give it more time to get to know it better!

Now that more Dioramas are out in the wild, I wonder if the Pano vs Dio debate will continue? Whats everyone’s thoughts on the two now?

I still lean more towards the Pano, but I’ve been playing my Diorama a ton the past couple months. They’re both great yoyos.

Interesting! I’ve had the Dio since its original drop and I just find myself picking up the Pano more as well. Similarly to Markmont Classic vs MCMO, the classic just feels… more classic?

The Dio is so light and nimble it almost takes away from the old school feeling I get from the Pano. The Dio is like a Carbon Road Bicycle, the Pano is like a single speed cruiser. Hard to define.

I sold my Panorama very soon after getting my DIorama, I still think I made the right choice between the two. I don’t quite get the comments that the Diorama is this crazy speed demon, both yoyos are so responsive to your movements that you just get what you put into it.

I only have a Diorama, so that’s my vote!

Oh man… seeing this thread pop up again is not good for my Pano/Diorama cravings. I have done extraordinarily well resisting temptation up to this point for awhile, I already have an ungodly amount of them. Turning down that rose gold they just had for sale was the hardest thing ever lol. They’re just so… collectible looking lmao

I think they’re different. But to feel the difference, don’t use the heavy flat caps on the dio. Use the ultralights. With the ultralights, it’s more floaty, and I believe it can be compared to some a-rt yoyos
