It seems like a worthwhile fingerspin SE would have to have much more diameter. Depending on the yo-yo, this would create a gap between the edge of the SE and many yo-yo walls small enough for a finger to jam into.
I can fingerspin a ul on my fingernail and the same goes for the tiny dimple on the flying lemon. So the big mouth se should be no problem for me.
I get friction with my fingernail against the engraving, but YMMV.
When I read this I imagined a disk that’s more of a finger spin cup.
I’ve always wondered - is there a specific reason why some SE’s have a gap between the SE and the yo-yo, while others sit flush against it? ![]()
That I don’t know. Initially I was thinking it was for structural strength because of the particular side effect.
I guess I’m dedicated then ![]()
I can (barely) pull start, but landing a fingerspin from a horizontal throw, hopping between fingers etc., not so much
. (I’v only done both on regular Spike SEs).
Oh that looks cool… I bet it’d be even cooler with purple ones though.
Awesome!
Where do we get these se?
So far, only on the latest Reboot run.
Is it considered a fingerspin only if you hop it on your finger? I feel a pull start which is very easy on both ultralights and the big mouth is also a fingerspin right![]()
Absolutely.
Sounds like the Big Mouth is finger spin friendly after all.
The JT is also pull start capable. Using a fingernail, I think it is slightly easier because the dome reduces friction.

Also, the many Raspberry SE’s in the store are new additions(?)
Edit to add: Per email and IG, the Wizard will be available Friday, October 2nd, at 11am Pacific. $89.
So awesome to see them bringing this colour to more yoyos. ![]()
Surprise!
